I SPOT I Movie "The "I know many of the game shows are repeats because sometimes they talk about things that happened two years in the past, like 'Card Sharks' mentioning Lady Di and Charles getting married. However, we always thought 'The Price Is Right' was current.

But I'm sure the July 11 show was a repeat and on Sept. 1 I was sure I saw the show before because I remember the remarks made by the three models about their mortgages and their financial obligations. Do you know if 'The Price Is Right' is sometimes repeated? Mrs. Ellen Parker, Detroit "Price" has been using reruns in July for several years so host Bob Barker can do his annual stint as host of the Miss Universe pageant, which is often held in such exotic places as Seoul, South Korea. The September repeats are to give the show staff vacation time.

But, time-lag doesn't always mean a show is a rerun, especially on syndicated games like "Card Sharks," (now dumped by Channel 2). Stations don't always buy the shows the season they are produced so it can be the first time out locally for a show produced several seasons before. "I'd like to know if 'Fantasy' will be shown on NBC in the fall." Mike McClelland, Berkley NBC will have it but only until Oct. 28, when it'll be replaced by new editions of "The Match Game" and "Hollywood Squares." But Detroit's NBC station, WDIV-TV Channel 4, will replace "Fantasy" starting Monday, with reruns of "Family." No decision yet at 4 on whether they'll carry the two games. "Fantasy" has been doing dismally, at or near the bottom of the list of daytime shows.

Another NBC daytime show has an uncertain future, TV's oldest soap, "Search for Tomorrow," which marked 32 years on the air Sept. 3. "Search" has been renewed through December but it has to climb out of the cellar if it's going to continue. "Whatever happened to the ABC series, 'Police Squad'? It was hilarious; a lot of silly fun. Where and when can I see it? Is it coming back? I heard it was too intellectual for American TV.

Ludovico Proven-zano, Ann Arbor. Not intellectual, just too far-out for the majority TV audience which has never been noted for latching on to something genuinely different. "Laugh-In," which changed the style of TV variety shows, didn't blossom into an instant hit. Some folks never did understand what was going on there. "Police Squad," on ABC in March 1982, came from Jim Abrahams, David and Jerry Zucker, the same antic brains that produced the 1982 movie hit, "Airplane!" The show was done in the same satiric, deadpan style.

"Police Squad" had a good debut audience but then slipped. ABC tried again in July 1982, but the mass audience still didn't catch on. Or, as some analysts saw it, crime was on the public mind and viewers didn't like kidding the police. by the way, will make its network TV bow on NBC Nov. 27.
