Indiana Calls Session on Relief Crisis INDIANAPOLIS (IP) The Indiana Legislature was called by Gov. Henry F. Schricker to meet in special session next Monday to deal with the public welfare situation. All matching Federal welfare funds have been withdrawn from Indiana because of a new state law which opens public welfare records to public inspection. OSCAR EWING, Social Security director, ruled this violates Federal statutes.

He then cut off the Federal funds, which amount to about $20,000,000 a year. The antisecrecy law was enacted by the legislature in its regular session which ended last March. Gov. Schricker, a Democrat, vetoed the act, but the Republican-controlled legislature overruled his veto. State welfare officials estimate the state's" funds for maintenance of the welfare program will be exhausted by Jan.

1. Some counties say they will be out of money by Oct. 1. More than 75,000 persons are on the welfare rolls. The governor said his message to both Houses would not recommend repeal of antisecrecy law.

Republican leaders say they have no intention of repealing the antisecrecy provision.
