Karl Riefkohl died last Tuesday at the age of 44 from a troubling heart problem. He was formerly from Moritzburg near Hildcsheim. He owned a farm near New Braunfels and had been a teacher and county judge here.

He is survived by his widow and eight children. A.W.C. Bergfeld, was slightly wounded in action in Germany on February 23, the parents were advised in an official telegram from the War Department Tuesday. No further details are known. Lt. Bergfeld was serving as a battalion surgeon with an infantry regiment of the Third Army.

The Herald last week had published extracts from a letter he wrote relatives here about how he was treating men wounded in action, and the great value of blood plasma in saving lives, dated on February 20, just three days before he, himself was destined to suffer wounds. At the University of Texas, degrees were conferred on Frances Louise Oheim, Bachelor of Music, and Margaret Frueholz, Master of Frueholz was one of seven receiving a masters degree.
