R. Reter of the Reter Fruit company, Medford, was elected vice-president of the OregonWashington California Pear bureau at a meeting held in Portland recently. S. M. Tuttle, Medford, was named with Reter on the executive committee and Harry Holmes, Howell Murphy, Harold Holmes, Reter and Tuttle were elected to the board of trustees for the Medford district.

Shippers handled the largest crop in the history of pear districts last year and prospects for the coming year are good, officials reported at the meeting. Grants Pass Starts Safe Driver Picking Grants Pass, April 30-A campaign to pick safe drivers here has been inaugurated and Mrs. Harry Mcfarland was the first selection. No water is being used from the storage reservoirs in any of the tricts.

Gus Boen Awarded Farm In Drawing Gus Boen, 28, war veteran and former Medford resident now living in Spokane, was winner of a 111-acre farm in a land drawing in Spokane recently, it has been learned here. The land is located near Benton City, Wash. Boen was married recently to the former Colleen Erskine, daughter of Mwand Mrs. Walter Erskine, 614 13th street. Boen is the son of Mrs.
