Studies so far have shown that those who don't have ulcers excrete more of the substance than those who have.

Tested in experimental animals, the substance has shown to reduce stomach ulcer formation. However, the Scripps researchers believe the substance may never have value in the treatment of ulcers in human beings. But they believe their experiments may give medical men a better understanding of the mechanics of ulcer growth. With such knowledge, science envisages a better approach toward developing a drug, or medicine, to attack the ulcer problem. New Compounds Hailed In recent months, a compound known as enterogastrone has haa been hailed as an effective agent against ulcers and many doctors are now prescribing the compound.

However, the scientists here have found that enterogastrone has little effect against ulcers. Their findings are confirmed by other Investigators. "Miraculous cures" have been reported through use of entergas-trone, but the scientists here believe those patients who showed good response may have made improvement because "they stopped worrying and gave the ulcers a chance to heal." The compound is obtained from the duodenum canal of pigs. It is not the first "remedy," nor will it be the last, for which great claims will be made, according to the Scripps scientists. They will fight at catch-weights, Carlson weighing 145 pounds and Sunday coming in at 153.

Sunday's only professional appearance here was a 54-second knockout of Al Renner two weeks ago. The match ended when Renner lost track of the count when floored in the first round. Renner gets another chance, however, when he climbs into the ring against "Pug" Wilson, student at the Oregon Technical Institute, Klamath Falls. Wilson has had considerable experience around Klamath Falls and should give young Renner a tough evening. They will tip the scales at about 155 pounds and will go for six rounds.
