Lewis Gladden Ruby Hanger Fletcher Cyrus N. Banta, Former Legislator, Dies Berryman, October Cyrus N. Banta, 79, former member of the State Legislature from Washington County, died here today. Mr. Banta farmed near here for many years and also owned a general merchandise store.

He was active in county and state politics. He is survived by a son, Parke M. Banta, former member of the Republican State Central Committee of Ironton, and a daughter. The funeral will be held Monday at 1 o'clock at his home here and interment will be in Potosi, Mo. -Globe-Democrat.

W. Bamber and wife, of St. Louis, are spending their vacation here at their coun ry home. The Hinch High School ball team went to Cuba Friday night to play. The girl were defeated by the Oak Hill girls, and the boys were defeated by the Oak Hill boys.

Wahl. superintendent of the Warrenton District, and much encouragement was felt by the officials of the local church for the year ahead. Rev. Potts will use as his themes next Sunday, "The Christian Mind" in the morning at 11 o'clock, and in the evening "The Christian Imperative." Fine song services will be enjoyed at these services. Miss Lena Berti will be the leader of the Epworth League service Sunday evening at 6:30.

The Sunday School will meet fifteen minutes earlier from now on, convening at 9:45 instead of 10 o'clock. Here are some of the subjects that will be used by Rev. Freie, nee Warner, died in the Washington hospital October 16, at the age of 37 years. Mrs. Freie has spent the past eight years in Pacific, and for a number of previous years near Catawissa, She leaves her aged father, G. W. Warner of Catawissa, two brothers, George of St.

Louis and Harry of Seattle, Washington, and one sister, Mrs. Clara Stephens of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Interments was made in Pacific city cemetery, with a funeral at the Presbyterian church. CRAWFORD COUNTY Stanley Starks, son of Mrs. Laura Garrett of Steelville and the late Robert Starks, died in the City Hospital in St.

Louis October 13, at the age of 31 years. He was never married. Interment was made at Steelville October 16. WASHINGTON COUNTY John Hingston, age 82 years 6 months, died in St. Louis October 16, 1929.

He was a Civil War veteran and had spent most of his life in Potosi, where he was engaged as a stone mason and plasterer. He is survived by a daughter, Norah, now the wife of Dr. Cheatham, and son John. five grandchildren and two greatR randchildren. The remains were brought to Potosi, the 17th and laid to rest in the colored cemetery.

Mrs. Mary W. Bliss, wife of Mr. Walter E. Bliss, a former resident of Bliss, died suddenly in San Francisco on Oct.

7tb, 1929. Mrs. Bert Weeks died at Frankclay October 14 and was buried the 15th in the Big River cemetery. David Sylvester Jarvis, born in Washington County and died Oct. 7.

1929. at the age of 79 Jears 17 days. He was married to Judy Ann Goodson, August 29, 1862. To this union seven children were born, namely: E. E.
