Saturday', April 6, 1957 4 -THE DAILY INDEPENDENT, MONESSEN, Catholic Daughters Announce Winners Monessen Court 776 Catholic Daughters of America sponsored a creative poetry contest with a Catholic theme as part of a National Poetry Contest in Monessen. There were 154 poems in Uie competition and they were I A I submitted by students from three parochial schools, St. Leonard. HoJy Name and St. Hyacinth.

Several were received from Monessen Junior and Senior i Schools. Name Judges Acting as judges were Rebecca Mounster, chairman; Bessie Preston and Helen Jones. Prizes of $5, S3, and SI.50 were awarded lor the first, second and third placos respectively in each of the three divisions. Division One WES for students in grades four, five and six and the winners were Beatrice Kamenicky, grade four of Holy Name School, James Saxon, grade six of St. Leonard School and Mathias Kasper, grade six of St.

Leonard School, first, second and i place respectively. In Division Two for seventh, eighth and ninth grades the winners Stella Ann Reday, grade seven of Holy Name School. Harry Verne grade eight of St. Leonard School, second a Dorothy Lenora Doty, grade seven of Holy Name School, third. High School Winner Winning the auard in Division Three for grades ten.

Mrs, W. Verne Buchanon. of Ohio, a past president of the National Council of Presbyterian Women, will address the ladies group. Mrs, Buchanon is well known among Presbyterian Churchwomen for her achievements, while she headed the national group. She will discuss the projects and work of Presbyterian women all over the United States.

Program Set Mrs. Buchanon was added to the already impressive program set up for the spring session, which will begin at 10 a. m. There will be a World Service display under the direction of Mrs. H.

Anniversary Reunion Set by Class Of 1932 The Monessen High School Class of 1932 is making plans for a reunion to mark the silver anniversary of graduation.
