HARRISVILLE Stillwagon Descendants Elect Officers for '69 By MRS. CLYDE LONG HARRISVILLE The Stillwagon Reunion was held at Grove City Memorial with approximately 80 attending. Mrs. Jay Stillwagon Sr. presided at the 1 business meeting in the absence of the president.

The following officers were elected to serve for the coming president, Mrs. Dick Himes; president, Mary Rodemoyer; secretary, Judy Uber; treasurer Mrs. Perry Boozel. Awards were presented to the following: traveling the farthest Mrs. Carol Dodds from DuBois; largest family, Mr.

No Fatals Listed By State Police In July Report MERCER Fifty-nine accidents investigated by state police of the Mercer substation in July resulted in injury to 70 persons and no fatalities, according to the July summary released by Sgt. George Babics, officer in charge of Troop in Mercer. Total property damage was estimated at approximately 960, Sgt.

Babics said. The sergeant compared the figures with July of last year when 51 accidents were investigated, resulting in injury to 50 persons with five fatalities. Total damage then was estimated at $44,550. There were a total of 305 incidents requiring investigations, including criminal, accidents, suspensions, dealers investigations and the service of warrants. In all, 1750 vehicles were stopped in traffic checks in July of 1968, with 179 corrections ordered for faulty equipment.

A total of 234 traffic arrests were made during July of this year, compared to 158 traffic arrests made for July of last year. Ten criminal arrests were also made in July of this year, compared to 12 made for 1967 in the same month. Substation personnel traveled a total of approximately 36,540 miles in performing their duties. Property recovered for July of 1968 was valued at approximately $1,364.45. Area Artist Wins First Place in Competition McFadden, 70; oldest man, Perry Boozel; 75; youngest baby, Lesa Rene Ketler, daughter of Mr.

The next reunion was announced for July 26, 1969. Society Picnic A tureen picnic was held by the members of the West Unity Community Missionary Society with 12 present. The blessing was given by Mrs. Dallas VanDyke. After dinner opening hymn for the meeting was, "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" and opening prayer was given by Mrs.

Robert Cratty. Mrs. Cratty read a missionary letter from the Liebs and Mrs. Clair Buchanan gave the missionary prayer. Topic of the evening was a "A Challenge to the Church," and scripture was taken from 1 Tim.

6. A reading was given entitled, "'The Love The business meeting followed with the president, Mrs. Williard Fink, presiding. Plans were made for the coming visit of missionaries Mr. and Mrs.

Howard Wyants. Closing hymn was "Face to Face" and closing prayer was given by Mrs. William Craig. Christian Mothers Christian Mothers of St. Anthony's Church, Forestville, met for their regular in the church with 14 meeting, present.

The business meeting was conducted by Mrs. Frank Fielding and membership was discussed. After the closing prayer by Father Richard Ragni, lunch was served by the committee of the month. Villagers Meet Harrisville Vil lagers held the August meeting Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Larry Craig with eight members present.

Plans were discussed for a trip. A decision was made to make: a quilt and the evening project time. was spent cutting and sewing patches. Refreshments were served by the hostess. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs.

William Patton. Girl Scout Camp August 12 will be the first day of Day Camp for the Scouts of the Slippery RockHarrisville area at the Sportsman Club in Slippery Rock. Day Camp will be held through Friday from 9 a. m. to 3 p.

m. Leaders from Harrisville will be Mrs. Jay Stillwagon Jr. and Mrs. Jack Covert.

GROVE CITY Leslie Firth, Mercer County Agent, addressed Grove City Rotarians Tuesday noon and told of the 4-H projects available to members in the county. Speaking of 4-H and Future Farmers America, a threemember team spoke briefly of the personal progress they have made as members. Marilyn Jewell, Mercer High School, told of her projects in dress-making and fashions. She stated that she has found a lot of "fun and hard work." Sherry Shaffer, Mercer High School. cited ambitions in sewing and cooking.

She praised the club as helping to "build better people for tomorrow's world." Lewis McCune, planning to enter Grove City College in September, has been a member since the age of nine and pointed out the many projects available to interest a variety of persons who might join the Future Farmers and 4-H Clubs. Following the remarks, Firth showed colored slides the members who visited Washing. ton, D. and of the 13-acre 4-H Park, located north of Mercer Route 19. Cyril Elsdon arranged the meeting.

Guests included Dr. Frederick Raisch, Hickory; Walter Barron, Slippery Rock; the Rev. Kenneth Book and Harold Clarkson, both of Florida. Girls Identify Ohio Man In Assault Charge Club Hears Co. Agent MERCER State Police from the Mercer Substation have placed charges of assault with intent to ravish against Richard Antonio Vines, 21, of 968 Buckeye Warren, Ohio.

Vines was picked up two days ago in Allegheny County on charges of armed robbery. Shenango Township Police Chief William Truby showed his picture to an Adamsville RD 1 girl and an Englewood, Ohio, girl, both of whom were assaulted August 1 and both identified Vines. Vines was taken before Justice of the Peace Donald Buckel of Mercer on Tuesday and following his arraignment will be returned to Allegheny County where he faces the armed robbery charge. Minor Accident Is Investigated GROVE CITY Borough Police investigated a minor twocar accident at 4 p.m. Tuesday on South Broad Street.

Police said the cars involved were driven by Fred Delong of 250 E. Main who was traveling north on South Broad, and Mrs. Elizabeth Nordstrom of 320 Edgewood Drive, who was traveling east on an alley on the west side of South Broad. Damage to the Delong vehicle was estimated at $95. There was no damage to Mrs.

Nordstrom's car. KENNERDELL ART WINNER- and Mrs. Allen Cummings of Franklin RD 1 examine the painting that won first prize for Don Thomas of Greenville RD 4, in the semi-professional division of art competition held Sunday afternoon at the Kennerdell Music and Art Festival. The exhibition at Wilson Memorial Park brought entries from 125 artists from Northwestern Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. About 500 persons attended the festival, which included performance by the Kennerdell Symphony Orchestra.

Club Sets Various Projects GROVE CITY The Ways and Means Committee of the Junior Women's Club met recently at the home of the chairman, Mrs. Theodore Hines. Projects for the year were discussed and final plans were made for the booth the club will sponsor at the Street Fair Members will be asked to make donations. Another project for the will be a rummage sale on September 13 at the First Seneca Bank.
