He was born on Christmas day, 1921, in Lynn, Massachusetts, the son of Karl and Marion (Stewart) Putnam. He was graduated from Lynn English High School, Hebron Academy in Hebron, Maine, and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

He received a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Moore School of the University of Pennsylvania. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta. Mr. Putnam was a veteran of the Second World War. He served in the 8th Air Force in the European Theatre of Operations.

He was employed by the Radio Corporation of America for 30 years in the Moorestown, New Jersey, and Meadowlands, Pennsylvania, locations of RCA. After his retirement, he served the Boy Scouts of America for 13 years as District Scout Executive with the Allegheny Trails Council in Pennsylvania and the Daniel Webster Council in New Hampshire. Throughout his life, Mr. Putnam was an active volunteer in the communities where his family resided. He was a BSA Scoutmaster in Haddon Heights, New Jersey, and Mt.

Lebanon, Pennsylvania. He was an Elder in the Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and in the Congregational Church in Conway, New Hampshire. He was a Trustee of the Conway Public Library and a member of the Conway Historical Society. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marion L.

He was the much loved father of Michael and Benjamin; husband of Francie (Coghill), son of Wallace and Elinor (Gruber); brother of Janet (Robb) Litten and Doug Robb. Born in Indianapolis, IN, Dan attend high school in Toronto, Ontario. At summer camp Dan was introduced to target shooting, and in 1972 won the Canadian Junior Sporting Rifle National Championship and was named to the Canadian National Team.

He graduated from Ohio University in 1977 and received an MBA from the same school in 1978. He started his career with Corporation in 1978 as a marketing representative, and was frequently among the top sales leaders of the company. He and his family enjoyed outdoor activities, particularly canoeing and biking. He was active in the Boy Scouts, serving as Den Leader for Pack 35 for 5 years. As his boys moved into Boy Scouts, so did his volunteer activities as he worked with Troop 28.

Diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 1999, Dan was able to continue his participation with scouts and outdoor activities for many years as he lived with cancer. There will be a Memorial Service in Mt.
