One of the most enjoyable occasions ot the year was a social meeting given by the Home and Foreign Missionary socle-ties of the Methodist church Monday afternoon at the parsonage.

It was an Informal affair and during the hours the charm of conversation was broken by sweet strains of music, first by Mlsa Bess Crutchfleld In a violin solo, piano accompaniment by Miss Blrod; later Misses Grace Glllett and Vivian Dover each a vocal solo. During the social session that followed the parliamentary drill, violet colored grape Juice In crystal dishes arranged on plates daintily garnished with violets, was served with date cakes. The Priscllla club was entertained by Mrs. C. D. Lay Wednesday afternoon. A majority of the members were present and enjoyed a most Interesting session.

The guests for the afternoon were Mrs. R. H. Johnson and Misses Bassett of Dallas and Miss Mayes of Commerce. The next meeting of the club will be with-Mrs.

8. club and a tew guests were bidden by Mrs. B. F. Ahrenbeck to enjoy a social hour In her lovsly new bungalow.

The hospitality had a two-fold significance, it was the initial gathering of the club and It was the first sooial affair given in a new home. The library and dining room, finished in brown, were charming with their embellishments of follago plants and cut flowers. Calla lilies found a place for their regal beauty In the partition, ledge which supports the columns suggesting the division of the, rooms. Gorgeous red carnations embedded In feathery fern formed the central decoration of the mission table In the dining room. The guests were received by Mrs.

Ahrenbeck and proceeded to tables placed for fortv-two. Dainty score cards depleting quaint Hollanders, were passed by Miss Alvia Francklow, and five tables of players were soon engaged In a merry contest, score being kept by Mesdames Ethol Shields and John Driscoll. Again the beautiful home of Mrs. R. H. Berry was the scene of a pleasant hospitality on Tuesday afternoon. There could be no more pleasant hostess than Mrs.

Berry, and assisted by her charming daughter, Miss Nona, the afternoon couli be none other than a delightful one. Mrs. Berry's guests were the members of the Woman's Home Mission society. The elegant Wood home was the scene a happy affair on Friday afternoon when Miss Josephine Wood entertained the Bridge club. There Is not a more beautiful home In the city, and It Is so adaptable for entertaining that the stately La France roses and fragrant sweetpeas ordered for the occasion filled the only vacancy, making the scene suitable for a most delightful afternoon.

At the close of four closely contested games Miss Ethel Brown was found to have won the highest score and was given a handsome silver card case. Ere the close of the afternoon the hostess, assisted by her mother and sister, Mrs. Crys Wooi, served a dainty salad course.
