Clair, PA and Sea Pines Plantation, Hilton Head, SC, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, PA. Born in Painted Post, NY on April 19, 1929, he was a graduate of Hornell High School and The Lawrenceville School. He received an A.B. Degree from Princeton University in 1951 and a J.D.

Degree from Cornell University and was an Editor of the Cornell Law Review. Before attending law school he served as an officer in the US Navy. He engaged in the private practice of law with the New York City for of Chadbourne Parke and the Buffalo, NY firm of Saperston and Day. In 1967, Mr. Brown moved to Pittsburgh and, after service with Blaw-Knox Corporation, served as Assistant General Counsel of Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

Mr. Brown joined Mobay Corporation in 1975 as General Counsel and Secretary and was elected a corporate Vice President in 1978. After his retirement from Mobay in 1990, he served as special counsel to Eckert Seamens Cherin and Mellott. Mr. activities included service with the American Red Cross where he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Southwestern Pennsylvania (formerly Pittsburgh-Allegheny County) Chapter.

He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of that Chapter and also was Chairman of Region II, Eastern Operations Headquarters and Chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Region. Mr. Brown was a member of the Board of Directors of the Wesley Institute, a facility for troubled children, was member of the Board of Directors of Music for Mt. Lebanon and was a founding director of the Southminster Child Care Center in Mt. Lebanon, PA.

Mr. Brown served as an Elder and Trustee of Southminster Presbyterian Church and also served as its Clerk of Session and Chairman of its Endowment Committee. He was a member of the Duquesne Club, Country Club and of Boar Creek Country Club in South Carolina. Beloved husband of 55 years to Jeanne Brown. Devoted father to Robert Brown (his wife Karen) of Mt.

Lebanon and Margaret (Peggy) Wucher (her husband Brad) of Upper St. Clair. Loving grandfather of Ross Brown, Jeff Wucher and Ben Wucher, He is also survived by his sister Virginia (Ginger) Smith (and her husband Paul) of Silver Springs, MD. A Memorial Service will be held at Southminster Presbyterian Church, 799 Washington Mt. Lebanon, PA at 4 pm of Thursday, May 15th.

Friends of the family will be received in the Fellowship Hall of the church following the service. He was employed as a Special Agent in the FBI from 1969 until his retirement in 2000. Clair Bocce League. John also enjoyed playing golf with his sons.
