For years, she spearheaded the KDKA Turkey Fund, raising money to provide Thanksgiving turkeys to needy families. Yvonne was passionate about her work, and was overwhelmed by the love and support she received from her friends, former colleagues and KDKA family. In the two years since her diagnosis, Yvonne served as emcee for the Ovarian Cancer Walk at North Park. Outside of work, Yvonne enjoyed gardening and yoga, and her love for animals was well known.

(BODZENSKI) Of North Huntingdon, formerly of Braddock, age 94, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday January 7, 2010 She was born July 18, 1915 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Alexander and Wladyslawa Bodzenski; she was preceded in death by her husband George F. Zula in 1959, sisters Genevieve (Joseph) Lesczynski, Sophie Bodzenski, Jane (Joseph) Joscak, a brother Chester Bodzenski and a sister-in-law Margaret H. Zula. Josephine was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church and served as secretary of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society for 14 years. She also was active in the Polish Fraternals serving as secretary for the Polish Alliance, Group under the Protection of Our Lady of Czestochowa.

Her life was devoted to God, family, church and her Polish culture and heritage. She is survived by two sons Richard F. Zula and George C. (Michele) Zula; three grandchildren Kyra Zula, George M. (Diane) Zula, Richard M.

(Michele) Zula, and adopted granddaughters Chris and Nicole McKeon; four great grandchildren Michael Zula, George, Abigail and Richard M. Zula a sister-in-law Frances Bodzenski, and a cousin Theresa Bodzenski Cipkala, nieces and nephews. Friends welcome Saturday 2-7 p.m. Sunday at the PATRICK T.
