Theresa M. Paoletti, 95, of Wilson, died Friday, December 27, 2013, at Lawson nursing home in Jefferson Hills. Born September 2, 1918, in Clairton, to the late James and Mary (Ilease) Azzari. She was a life long member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish.

She had a deep love for her family and enjoyed reading and Pgh sports. She was the wife of the late Leon Paoletti. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ann Geletko of Clairton, Laura Thaxton of Liberty and Christina (Ronald) Moog-Baldwin; two sons, John (Linda) Paoletti of Elizabeth Twp. and Charles (Betty) Paoletti of Falls Church, VA; and a sister, Frances Ekaitis of Rialto, CA; eight grandchildren, Kristen Vidovich, Nicole Galloway, Danielle Eisenberg, Matthew Geletko, Joshua Geletko, Kathryn Paoletti, Lee Moog, Jay Moog; four great-grandchildren, Alec Howard, Connor Paoletti, Griffin Galloway, and Landon Galloway. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Genevieve Ross and Josephine Martis; two sons-in-law, Francis Geletko and Gregory Thaxton.

She and her husband, Jack, enjoyed a large circle of friends: the Duquesne University card club and other close friends from the neighborhood, and St. Mary of Jeanne (Small) Spain; son-in-law, Brendan Spain; and her devoted sister, Eileen Fox; along with several nieces and nephews. Catherine lived a long, beautiful life with her husband and daughter, Jeanne, in Mt. Washington, and was very active in the parish activities of St.

Mary of the Mount. She and her husband, Jack, enjoyed a large circle of friends: the Duquesne University card club and other close friends from the neighborhood, and St. Mary of the Mount Parish. Catherine was an avid loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins (for many years she attended Steeler home games in the bitter cold with Jack and Jeanne, and many friends and family members). She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Tom; beloved mother of Scott Thompson (Jill), Randy Thompson, and Bonnie Jean Thompson Solensky (John); she was the devoted grandmother to nine grandchildren, Johnny, Benjamin, Maxwell, Justin, Juliet, Sonja, and Asher Solensky and Jessica and Matthew Thompson. She was predeceased by older siblings, Tommy James and Doris Rees. Spending her childhood in Oakland and attending Schenley High School, Ruth attended Penn State University before returning to Pittsburgh. She worked at Dresbold Typewriter in Sharpsburg as secretary and salesperson. Ruth was a competitive dance roller skater winning many medals.

Ruth touched the lives of countless people and will be remembered as a woman of great faith, integrity, and compassion. Daily, she lived out her favorite quote can never be too compassionate or too Ruth loved family gatherings and nothing gave her more joy than raising her three children or spending time with and reading to her grandchildren. She loved her St. Thomas Church in the Fields family and was a member for over 40 years. Ruth enjoyed playing cards and bowling with friends, traveling to Cleveland for Steeler games and playing games with her family.
