Zilliox of Lawrence KS; a sister Jean Zimmerman and husband Edwin of Tempe AZ; a niece Julie Brown and husband Gary of Gold Canyon, AZ; a nephew, Scott Zimmerman and wife Beverly of Castle Rock CO; a sister-in-law, Deborah A. Gooden of Washington, PA; a nephew, Christopher M. Gooden of Canonsburg, PA; a niece Debbie Malone and husband Howard of Minnesota; a nephew, John McCarty of Louisville, KY; a niece, Sharon Winkler and husband Mark of Turlock CA; and a very special family at the American Chemical Society. In 1969, the family moved to Plum Borough, PA and she had resided there since that time, becoming extremely active in the Holiday Park community and developing life-long friendships with many of the residents. Gordon was born on November 26, 1935, in Hutchinson, KS, a son of the late Gerald W. and Dorothy M. McCarty. He was a graduate of Wichita High School East (1953), Wichita State University (1957 and 1959), where he received a B.S. and M.S.

degree in Chemistry at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (1963), where he received a Ph.D. in Physical-Organic Chemistry. Gordon started his teaching career in 1964 at West Virginia University as an assistant professor and became a full professor in 1977. He left WVU in 1980 and was employed by Mobay (now Bayer Corporation) in New Martinsville, WV as an analytical laboratory coordinator. In 1986 he moved to Bayer Corporation in Pittsburgh, PA as a Research Advisor and was employed with them until he retired in 1999 as their Manager of University Relations.

He received many academic honors including a B.S. Degree, Magna Cum Laude, Roger Adams Fellow, NSF Fellow, Standard Oil of California Fellow, NIH Fellow and an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Colorado. Zilliox of Lawrence KS; a sister Jean Zimmerman and husband Edwin WILLIAMS MARY LILLIE (DENNARD) 85, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away on Monday, July 11, 2011. Mrs. Williams was born December 28, 1925 in Pensacola, FL to Clinton John (CJ) Dennard and Rosa Belle Frye Dennard. She was the second youngest sibling of: brothers, Clinton B. (CB) Dennard, John C.

(JC) Dennard, George T. (GT) Dennard, James M. Dennard, and sisters, Fannie E. Dennard and Anna George Frye Dennard Washington. Mrs.

Williams married Howard Jack Williams in 1945 and out of this union were 6 children. Mrs. Williams was predeceased by her siblings except for James M. Dennard, parents, husband and eldest son, H. Jack Williams, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are: daughters, Cheryl White, Gwendolyn Davis, Rosene Virgil (all in Atlanta, sons, Douglas Williams and Wayne Williams (Pittsburgh, PA); daughter-in-law, Dolores Williams and son-in-law, James Virgil; ten grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. While raising her family, Mrs. Williams worked in the home nurturing her children. In her later years, she worked part-time for the Three Rivers Stadium. She was one of the last eldest from Whiteside Road original families.

He was one of the founding fathers of Pittsburgh's famous Strip District and was well known for the retail and wholesale sales of fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers for over 50 years. His company, Rubino Produce was a landmark in the Strip District and a destination for those seeking the finest quality merchandise. In addition, he was instrumental in the development of his sons company, Magic Creations; one of the leading promotional distribution companies in the country. Mike was a standout athlete; he was a star in football, track and wrestling at Dormont High School. At Penn State University he went on to become one of the best wrestlers in the nation and earned All American status.

He was an avid gardener and wine maker and was recognized with many local and national awards for his talents in both areas. He was married for 56 years and he will always be loved and remembered by his wife, Martha; his son, Michael, his daughter, Michelle Curtis; his grandchildren, Mario Rubino and Matthew Curtis; his sisters, Betty Vos (Jenkins) and Maryann Law and all of his many friends.
