In this new structure, erected at a cost of the modern idea of title insurance finds its highest expression. Tho building, three stories high, is occupied exclusively by the Oakland Title Insurance and Guaranty Company with the exception of four stores on the ground floor and a basement. Incorporated in the building are many novel arrangements by which title work will be greatly facilitated.

The site Is a commanding one, and will be even strategic when Fifteenth street lias been cut through to Harrison, a project for which all necessary legal plans already have been made. Miss Winifred Case, vice principal of the Pleasanton nchool, when she went to his apartment to call him at the usual hour. Dr. Case was 76 years old. April 26. Prof. Charles D. Marx, head of the Stanford civil engineering department, will speak at the second annual conference on public engineering, to be held at the Carnegie Institute of Technology at Pittsburg May 1 and 2. Prof.
