VINCENT SINGLETON Staff Writer Bristol International Raceway offi cials are expected to announce today that the financial difficulties of the raceway and dragway have been resolved and that the racing complex is under new manage ment a BIR spokesman said Wednesday Denny Darnell said BIR officials have scheduled a press conference at the raceway for 2 pm today to clarify the status and ownership of Bristol International Raceway and to point the direction BIR will be going in the International Raceway and Bristol International Dragway were both owned by Warner Hodgdon and both went into bankruptcy last he said (Larry) Carrier has been running the oper ation for Hodgdon and was appointed by the courts to be in charge of the race way during the Darnell said Wednesday the bank ruptcy Raceway officials also are expected to announce that the racing complex is under new management press conference he said Hodgdon's California based National Raceways Inc acquired full control of the Bristol racing complex in July of 1983 But the Bank of Virginia filed a foreclosure no tice on BIR after Hodgdon failed to meet a payment deadline on Dec 31 1984 To pre vent a public auction of the raceway Hodgdon filed for protection under Chap ter 11 last ebruary the day before the foreclosure sale was scheduled Bristolian Larry Carrier who was hired by Hodgdon to manage the raceway was also
