Born in McKeesport on March 12, 1921, daughter of the late William Meister and Margaret M. Meister Putze. Jean was predeceased by a brother, William; and her husband of 67 years, Isaac Patch.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Harold) Mendelson of Pinehurst, NC. Jean graduated from Allegheny High School in 1939. Following graduation, Jean worked for an electrical company until she married Isaac in 1942. Along with many other families, Jean anxiously awaited return from WWII in 1945. For the next 16 years, Jean stayed home taking care of her family.

In 1961, she went to work for Control Data Corporation (formerly Service Bureau Corp.) retiring in 1989 after 28 years of service. Jean and Ike loved traveling extensively in the U.S. with friends and family. Jean also enjoyed bowling, needlework, and bus trips to Atlantic City. We thank the staffs at Elmcroft Heartland, Pinehurst Healthcare, and FirstHealth Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, from 10 a.m., until time of Service at 11 a.m. at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. 4, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Carl M. and Louise K. (Snyder) Skooglund. John was a retired executive from Westinghouse Co. with 37 years of service.

He was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in electrical engineering, and also a graduate of Pitt University with a degree in electrical engineering. He was a veteran of the Army. John was an active member of SURE Westinghouse Volunteer Group, and also a member of the North Huntingdon Township Zoning and Hearing Board, and the AARP and was director of Membership. Surviving are children, Richard (Vickie) Skooglund of Belle Vernon, Nancy Skooglund of Pittsburgh, and Daniel (Kathy Hogan) Skooglund of Fishkill, NY; grandchildren, Brandon (Laura) Skooglund and Sara (Chad) Riley; great-grandchildren, Colton Riley and Wesley Skooglund; a brother, Carl (Anne Calvert) Skooglund of Dallas, TX. She was eldest sister to Mildred Kresovich, David Karanovich, and Dorothy Vignovic, all deceased.

Annie was a valued secretary at Carnegie Mellon University, the Mellon Institute of Science, and Westinghouse corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh. An accomplished artist in acrylics on canvas and Jell-O on the dessert plate, Annie was a talented knitter, singer, and enthusiastic traveler, first with Andrew on numerous camping trips throughout the U.S. then, after his death in 1990, internationally with her children and with the Brevard Chorale. She is survived by her children, Paul Spudich of San Francisco and Suzanne Steidl formerly of Pittsburgh and now living in Port St. John.

John was a special, gentle, giving, devoted, and caring person who will be missed greatly and forever loved by his family and many friends. He enjoyed being with his family and loved fishing with his son and granddaughters. John actively participated for 17 years in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and served his country in the United States Air Force. Friends will be received at R.D.
