SOCIETY CLUBS and MUSIC Edited by Margaret Magee, Phone 3573 Mr. and Mrs. Helge Flaaten of Silverton, who Sunday celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a fellowship dinner given in their honor by members of the congregation of the Immanuel Lutheran church in Silverton. Preceding the ceremony Corydon Blodgett accompanied by Mrs. Lewis Mitchell, who also played the wedding marches sang "Until" and lighting the tapers were Miss Jane and Miss Eloise Findley, sisters of the bridegroom, both of whom wore gowns of pink marquisette. The bride, who entered on the arm of her father, wore a gown of white satin, with a fitted bodice with a low waistline and a sweetheart neck with an orange blossom design of seed pearls on the yoke, long sleeves pointed over the wrists and a full skirt extending into a train.

Her finger-tip length veil fell from a half hat of white bouvardia and she carried a bouquet of white roses. Her only ornament was a necklace of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. Mrs. Raymond Beard, who served as her sister's honor attendant wore a gown of pastel blue the low waisted bodice of which was of satin and the skirt of net. The gown was fashioned with fitted bodice and which had a sweetheart neckline and short sleeves, and a full skirt.

Mrs. Beard wore a half hat of pink bouvardia with a shoulder length veil of blue and carried a colonial bouquet of pastel flowers. Miss Mary McKay, the bridesmaid, wore a pink gown with lace bodice and net skirt and of the same design as that of the honor attendant. She also wore a half hat of pink bouvardia, which had a pink shoulder length veil, and carried a colonial bouquet. Little John David Beard, nephew of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Lewis Judson served as best man for Lt. Findley and ushers were Vern Summers, Emar Johnson and John Cotthoff. At the reception held in the Fireplace room of the church following the ceremony the room was decorated with arrangements of white iris and gladioluses and centering the serving table was the bride's cake, which had a wreath of bouvardia and fern. The wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Frank Shannon and presiding at the urns were Mrs.

Miss Nadine Wiseman Signs With Waves Third member of her family to volunteer for service with the armed forces of the United States is Miss Nadine Marie Wiseman, who Monday enlisted in the Waves.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wiseman of Salem, Miss Wiseman is a graduate of the high school at Strahan, Iowa, where she was a member of the Glee club and of the girls' basketball team. Both of the new enlistee's brothers are with the United States army, Herbert, a private first class, is stationed at Fort Omaha, and the other, Cpl. Edward Wiseman, is at Camp Pickett, Va.

Organizations Wives of officers of the 70th division will hold their bridge luncheon meeting at the Salem hotel dining room Thursday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock. Reservations are being made with Mrs. J. O. Wallis at 6282.

Ankeny-Smith Vows Said Sunday Night Ceremony solemnized Sunday evening at 1 o'clock in the Fireplace room of the First Presbyterian church with Rev. Henry Marcotte officiating was that at which Miss Maxine Smith, daughter of Mrs. Garnet Smith, became the bride of John I. Ankeny of West Salem, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Russell Ankeny of Dixon, Nebraska. The bride, whose mother gave her in marriage, chose a pastel blue ensemble with navy blue accessories for her wedding costume. Her corsage was of red rosebuds. Her only attendant, Mrs. Marjorie Hobble, wore a beige frock with harmonizing accessories and a corsage of yellow roses.

Leslie Smith, brother of the bride, served as best man. When Mr. and Mrs. Ankeny left on their wedding trip to Dixon, Nebraska, on their return from which they will make their home in Salem, Mrs. Ankeny was wearing a dusty pink suit with brown accessories.

To Install Gamma Chapter Of Pi Beta Phi Beta Chi, the oldest sorority on the Willamette university campus, established in 1919. will at installation ceremonies to be held June 2, 3 and 4, become the Oregon Gamma ter of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, established at Monmouth college in Illinois in 1867 with Nancy Black Wallace, mother of Paul Wallace, as one of the founders. Present for the occasion will be a number of the officers of the national organization, including the grand vice-president, Mrs. Warren T. Smith of Tacoma: Lambda province president, Mrs.

Miss Janice Judson To Wed Navy Man June bride will be Miss Janice Judson, daughter of Mrs. Lee Nicholson, who this week is entraining for Richmond, where she will exchange her marriage vows with William J. Rawlins of the United States navy, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Fred Lee Rawlins. The couple will make their home in Richmond, while Mr. Rawlins is stationed on the Atlantic coast. Both Miss Judson and her fiance are graduates of Salem schools.

Miss Judson attended the Merrit Davis School of Commerce and has been secretary to the state property comptroller. Mr. Rawlins is a fireman first class with the amphibious forces of the navy. Parents of a son, Thomas Fredric, born at the Salem General hospital Monday, are Ensign and Mrs. Tom Hill.

The little boy, whose mother is the former Ruth Anunsen, is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hill, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anunsen, His father is stationed in San Diego with the navy.
