Future action of your borough council concerning the Weatherly Water Co. will probably depend on the majority opinion expressed by the Weatherly voters at this election. Let us review briefly the events leading to the placement of this question on the ballot. "At various times in past years, groups and individuals in Weatherly have voiced dissatisfaction with the service and product supplied by the water company. "These complaints have led council to extensively investigate the basis for these complaints.

Opinions have been expressed that one solution to the problems would be for the Borough of Weatherly to acquire the interests and holdings of the water company. "Toward this end, your council held several meetings with officials of the water company to attempt to determine a purchase price for the company without resorting to legal action and the consequent extra attendant' expenses. Militant Minority "Hazleton is beginning to revive itself economically and must revive itself politically," Koch said.

The election of Democrats to city offices next Tuesday will not give control of the school board or council to the party, but will present an "interested, militant minority," the chairman said. Slams Reassessment Other issues of the election, he continued, grow out of the lack of the two-party system. Koch slammed the reassessment program as a "mess and a scandal," and it was entered into "haphazardly and without authority." The chairman said the law permits triennial reassessments -after 1953 and that, therefore, a reassessment could not take place except in 1956 and 1959. "There is no excuse for any council to violate the law," he added. Koch continued: "Furthermore, council determined that a reassessment was necessary, but because of the vehement protest of taxpayers they have kept silent about future plans of reassessment. Frackville. Very Funny A goodly number of years ago, when we still had dew on our ears, but not much sense in our head, we became enamored of a willowy blond creature who invariably exhorted us, each date night, as follows: "Be very, very funny." Only she pronounced it so that it sounded like this: "Be vay vay funny!" At the time we were devastated by this, as other young men have been overcome by a curl over an eye, or some other idiocy pertaining to the female of the species. So, while we're not the life-of-the party type, we proceeded to be very, very funny. What a strain! A few weeks of being funny for that blond, and we found ourselves exhausted; and before long we had married a brunette for whom we did not have to be very very funny. What a relief! This is not meant to infer that blonds are any less charming than brunettes.

The point we are trying to make, in a somewhat circuitous fashion, is that "being very, very funny" can be wearing. And, accordingly, if this column is not always scintillating, positively bursting with humor and bright thoughts, our apologies. Try to Dear with us. Perhaps another week we will be very, very funny! Just as we got to this point, our brunette vife handed us a plate of hot home-made bread, dripping with fresh melted butter. Man! And we don't have to be vay vay funny.

We just have to eat it. See what we mean? Excuse us a moment, please. The telephone. "Hello-hello! The asylum? No, this is not the asylum! This is a real estate office!"
