rangement a league spokes man reported However league official John Bassett said Satur day night will stand by the announcement of the three team format we made this afternoon I have no knowledge of any change A spokesman for the league office in Ixjs Angeles said that an earlier statement released in Memphis by Bassett premature and was not cor The spokesman in Los Ange les said the three league cham pions plus one team would be involved in the playoffs The spokesman said another announcement detailing the re vised plans would be made by league officials here Saturday night but Bassett owner of the Memphis Southmen and chair man of the WL Executive Committee said Saturday night that the only official WL statement coming out of Mem phis was the one he made ear lier in the day Tulsa Smothers Bulldogs 52 14 DES MOINES Iowa (AP) Quarterback Jeb Blount fired five scoring passes three in the first period to lead Tulsa to a 52 14 cruise over Drake in a Missouri Valley Conference football game Saturday The victory let Tulsa sweep Its six Missouri Valley Confer ence games and improve its over all record to 7 3 The Hur ricane had clinched the confer ence championship the previous week Blount shared the limelight with wide receiver Steve Lar gent who fielded five touch down lour from Blount and another from the No 2 quarterback Ron Hickerson tying a Tulsa record Howard
