(AP) Greene County citizens launched a drive Saturday aimed at the extermination of rabid foxes in the area An estimated 100 hunters or ganized into 16 groups fanned out with dogs and shotguns in an attempt to kill out the gray fox population in the county A rabies outbreak has reached near epidemic proportions in the county Kermit Cornwell chief sanitarian of the Greene County Health Department said at least 90 rabid foxes have been killed since January and that some 26 persons have taken or are taking anti rabies shots armers have reported that the foxes are coming around their barns and houses Officials say they hope each hunter will be able to bag at least one fox during the two day hunt The City of Greeneville is at present under quarantine and officials said stray dogs and all
