VOCATIONAL KEN GET BUSY Vets Untitled to Training Must Act Within Year. Topeka, May B. A statement urging all ex-service men who are entitled to vocational training not to let their opportunities go by default was issued today by Frank E. Samuel, slate aofjutairt of the American Legion. Many veterans, although eligible, have either declined or deferred acceptance of the government's proffer of assistance to Samuel.

"Congress has recently ruled that It Is necessary that vocation al training be either definitely accepted or rejected within a period of twelve months from the date that a disabled man is notified he Is eligible for vocational training. snys the statement. "Exception la made only in cases where the disabled man Is physically unable to outer training within the twelve months specified. "Many men have expressed a desire to defer their training for an indefinite period, and the federal board bus been very lenient In granting such requests. How-over, the present law will make it Impossible for tho board to extend this time beyond the period of twelve months."
