21 Past Matrons and Past Patrons Night, was observed by Union Village Chapter U. O.E.S. at a stated meeting this week. Those honored were the Past Matrons and Past Patrons who had become members by affiliation with Union Village Chapter, since its institution July 10. These Past Officers were piven a hearty welcome by the Worthy Matron.

Mrs. Dorothy Hamilton and the Worthy Patron, Joseph Byers. Past Matrons attending were: Mesdames Mary Hendricks. Rachel Simpson. Mary T.

Utterback, Jean Utterback. Hazel Henderson and O'Lena Ferguson. Past Patrons were: Henry Arnold and Bennett Utterback. The Chapter was declared "At Ease." and a beautiful and impressive ceremony entitled "Lights of Starland," was presented by the Union Village officers. Past Matrons received rose cor- sages and the Past Patrons received gifts from the Worthy Matron and WTorthy Patron.

Visiting Past Matrons were Mrs. Odessia Hensley, Franklin, and Mrs. Edna Torrcnce, Rising Sun. An impressive ceremony was also given to welcome into the Order for membership by affiliation: Mesdames Anna Hall, Dora Shellenberg, Emily Cook. Beth McMillan, Bertha McClung, Laura Faye Elkins and Russell Elkins.

Mrs. Eva Jane Sawyers, soloist, sang appropriate numbers for the program.
