AVAILABLE COPY For the Record Tuesday, December 1, 1992 Herald-Zeitung, New Braunfels, Texas Page 3 Horoscopes By Stella Wilder Born today, you are one of the most reserved, unassuming, quiet, and private individuals born under your sign but this is not to say that you are not deeply passionate about the things you consider important in your life. Indeed, though you rarely share your deepest with others, you are constantly involving yourself in those affairs which you think are essential to the well-being of the world around you. You are always ready to take responsibility for your own actions, and you expect others to do the same. Both men and women born on this date have been endowed with considerable creative talents, and certainly will not be content without exploring and developing those talents to the fullest. Women born today are perhaps more motivated than their male counterparts to pursue universally recognized goals.

Also born on this date are: Rex Stout, author; Mary Martin, ACtress; Woody Allen, actor, director, writer. To see what is in store for you tomorrow, find your birthday and read the corresponding paragraph. Let your birthday star be your daily guide. WEDNESDAY, SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec.

21) There is no need to rush things today, but you must keep up a consistent pace once you get started. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) You'll find it easier today to settle into a more productive routine than usual. Progress can be swift.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) Working together with those who share both your talents and your goals is the key to a profitable day. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) It is important to you both professionally and personally that you keep up with local and worldwide developments today.

ARIES (March 21-April 19) You are not likely to aspire to those things others are eager for today. Still, you can cooperate with great success. TAURUS (April 20-May 20) You must resist the temptation to manipulate others today. What you decide should be applied to you and you alone. GEMINI (May 21-June 20) If you've been considering a career change, today is a good day to experiment with new plans, tactics, and strategies.

CANCER (June 21-July 22) You will enjoy considerable endurance to- day, which should enable you to accomplish what others have found impossible. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) You may find it frustrating to deal with officials of all sorts today, as bureaucracy tightens its grip. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept.

22) There are easier ways to accomplish what has been too difficult in recent weeks. Today, you'll discover a short-cut. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) That which has been lucrative in the past may be disappointing today and vice versa.

Be ready to change tactics. SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) Though there are few right and wrong answers to be found today, you may still attract a good deal of criticism. Does she have any idea of the pain and stress prank telephone calls can cause? Is she aware of the enormous expense that is incurred when the telephone company places "tracers" on telephones in an effort to catch those suspected of making obscene telephone calls? tam now preparing to go to trial to prosecute a person who called me 011 an average of 20 times every night for nearly four months.

1 could not afford to keep changing my telephone number, 50 I endured this for as long as I could, after changing my number three times. Meanwhile, my mother was in intensive care in the hospital, and with every late-night call my heart stopped. Please, please, parents, teach your children to be kind and consid- crate of others. Prank telephone calls can be disturbing, unnerving and sometimes cruel. VICTIM DEAR VICTIM: Some children usually when they are left alone without adult supervision make prank telephone calls without realizing the seriousness of what they are doing when they call people whose numbers they get at random from the telephone books.

They can disturb sick and elderly people, and frighten people who are alone. This is a plea to all people who would use the telephone for mean or mischievous reasons. Please, don't! DEAR ABBY: In a recent column, you defined the word "mensch," which in German means "man" in the best sense of the word. When I was in grade school many years ago, our teachers read a poem to us. I can't remember who wrote it, but it was in the form of a prayer al youngster asking the Lord to make a regular man out of him.

AN OLD-TIMER IN PALM SPRINGS DEAR OLD-TIMER: The poom was "Lord, Make a Regular Man Out of Me," and the author is Edgar A. Guest. Here it is: LORD, MAKE A REGULAR MAN OUT OF ME This I would like to be braver and bolder Just a bit wiser because I am older, Just a bit kinder to those I may meet, Just a bit manlier taking defeat; This for the New Year my wish and my plea Lord, make a regular man out of me. This I would like to be just a bit finer, More of a smiler and less of a whiner, Just a bit quicker to stretch out my hand, Helping another who's struggling to stand, This is my prayer for the New Year to be, Lord, make a regular man out of me, This I would like to be just a bit fairer, Just a bit better, and just a bit squarer, Not quite so ready to censure and blame, Quicker to help every man in the game, Not quite so eager men's failings to see, Lord, make a regular man out of me. This I would like to be just a bit truer, Less of the wisher and more of the doer, Broader and bigger, more willing to give, Living and helping my noighbor to live! This for the New Year my prayer and my plea Lord, make a regular man out of me.
