Five performances between the hours of 1 2 noon to 1 2 midnight will be given, no reserved seats being sold. Inserts from left to right (above), WM. The far west The largest theater oh the Pacific coast opens Its doors to the theater-goers of Oakland and the East-bay, tomorrow at noon. The new West Coast Oakland theater represents an investment cost of more than three and one-half million dollars. For more than one year the Eastbay residents have watched this huge building rising slowly on the corner of Nineteenth street and Telegraph avenue. In selecting the location for this great theater, the West Coast management kept In mind the central location which Is easily reached by motor thoroughfares and street oars from all outlying sections of the great East-bay district. In speaking of the gala opening of the new West Coast Oakland theater, Frank Newman, manager, points with pride to the most extraordinary appointments In East Indian interior decorating.

He said "The New Oakland theater is not only the largest theater on the Pacific Coast, but it ranks foremost among the most unique and most beautifully decorated theaters on the coast." The exterior, with its nign ana graceful dome is typical of th Brahamanical Temple of northern Iridla. The colored tile miays on the face of the main facade and in the dome give a richnesa of color and beauty.

The large vestibule is flanked on either side with rich imported marble walls, which form a base for a gold frieze of figures and animals typical ot the JrJast Indian aremtec-ture. The vestibule Is crowned with a huge dome about 100 feet above the floor. The dome is sup ported by huge pink stone col umns. Leavlne the vestibule, the mass foyer of me auditorium is reached through mahogany doors. A pleasing impression is created by ths beautifully colored and decorated ceiling of the foyer, which has ths effect of woven tapestry.

On either side of the entrance doors to the foyer there is an elevator, serving the balcony, and making the balcony seats as desirable as any others in the house. From either side of the foyer a grand stairway leads to the mezzanine foyer. Ths. floors are covered with a deep richly figured red carpet upon which is Bet well designed and.se-. lected furnishings.

The walls are textured and form a beautiful background for the tapestries. On entering: the main auditorium from either the upper or lower foyer there is presented to the view the deoorative organ screens at ths base of each of which is a symbolic figured colored with gold and stud ded with Jewels. The upper portion of the screen Is In silver, gold and green, from which there extends a graceful mass of carved architecture resembling the Temple of Chawmukh at Falltana In India. The main curtain has a gold background upon which has been placed two figures studded with jewels. The side walls of the auditorium are relieved with decorative open ings back of which are hung blue draperies and colorful tapestries.

Five de luxe performances, starting at twelve noon and continuing through until twelve midnight, will be given. A few of the outstanding features of the new house are the new and unique lighting system for the stage as well as the spacious aifdltorlum, the fire-proof projection room, and new cooling and ventilating system which circulates fresh aix throughout the house continually. EVERY CONVENIENCE. There has been very little left for theater-goers to wish for in the way of convenience.

Every minute detail has been worked out by the architect and builders of this beautiful new structure. Wide and spacious corridors through which one can walk for almost a half hour without' doubling back over his steps, new and unique lighting effects enhance the beauty of the overhead view. Four massive chandeliers of East Indian design In keeping with the other Interior decorations hang from 'the celling of the main auditorium. Over 3800 leather and plush upholstered-opera-ehairs of which 700 are loges, make up the seating accommodations for the new house. Welcome OAKLAND THEATER W.
