A survey of the Travelers Insurance company's activities reads: "The Travelers Insurance company, commonly known as 'The established in 1864, is the largest multiple-line insurance organization in the world and operates claim offices in all important cities in the United States and Canada. Five years ago the Travelers replaced the Eastbay district agency with a completely equipped, directly reporting branch office. Since that time a rapidly Increasing business has made it necessary to treble the office floor space, "Tha Oakland branch "of the Travelers serves both Alameda and Contra Costa counties and handles practically all types of insurance, Including life, accident, health, compensation, burglary, fire, steam boiler, fly wheel and plate glass." In commenting on the removal to their new offices, officials of the Travelers states: "In moving to new. larger quarters our purpose Is to better serve the rapidly-growing cities of Alameda and Contra Costa county.

The volume of business In this metropolitan area warrants a completely-equipped, directly-re porting Insurance office of the finest type. Curing five years of operations in the Eastbay, this branch has grown and prospered with the district and has in Its turn contributed to the business activity of the Eastbay. We have faith In a greater growth for the Eastbay cities and Contra Costa and Alameda counties as well in the very near future.
