C. hall. The meeting was called to order by the guardian neighbor, Mildred Smith. Following the flag ceremony, the installing officer, Mrs.

Alicia Davenport, was escorted to the guardian neighbor's chair. The following officers were installed: past guardian neighbor, Mrs. Mildred Smith; guardian neighbor, Mrs. Dicksy Weed; advisor, Mrs. Ellen Ely; major, Mrs.

Irma Miller; attendant, Mrs. Mamie Steinseifer; clerk, Mrs. McDaniels; banker, Mrs. Bertha Hewitt; managers, Mrs. Minnie Grizzle and Mrs.

Eva Richardson; musician, Mrs. Stella Persell; flag bearMrs. Ida Machado; captain of guards, Mrs. Stella Persell; correspondent, Mrs. Stella guardian, Mrs.

Mildred Smith. Mrs. G. L. Black and Mrs.

Myrtle Dunham were assisting installing officers. At the close of the installation, the following program presented: 8 piano solo by Mrs. Myrtle Dunham. was Guardian Neighbor Mrs. DickBy Weed was escorted to the camp and a bouquet of carnations was presented to her by Mrs.

Ellen Ely from the circle. Mr. and Mrs. Art Colt and daughter, Judena, gave several selections, violin duets, with Mrs. Colt at the piano.

Past Guardian Neighbor Mildred Smith was escorted to the camp fire by the captain of the guards, Mrs. Stella Persell and her guards. Mrs. Persell presented Mrs. Smith with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Two selections were rendered by Bernice Baker at the piano. Mrs. Alicia Davenport was escorted to the camp fire and presented with a past guardian neighbor jewel. Mrs. Mildred Smith presented the gift.

May Gibson presented two tap dance selections. Installing officer was presented with a bouquet by Dicksy Weed. Mrs. Black, Mrs. Dunham and Mrs.

Persell were presented with corsages by Mrs. Noy McDaniels. The senior guardian, Mrs. Smith, was presented with a gift and corsage from the Juveniles of Neighbors of Woodcraft. Presentation was made by Mrs.

Irma Miller. Little Dicky Weed, son of Mrs. Dicksy Weed, also gave a recitation. April twentieth being the craft and thirty-second forty-first birthday, of Woodbirthday of Ewauna circle, following the business meeting a luncheon was served in commemoration of the anniversarles. The table was decorated In red, green and white, the lodge colors, and a large birthday cake centered the table.

The committee in charge were Mrs. Bertha Hewitt, chairman, assisted by Mrs. Effie Redkey, Mrs. Stella Persell, Mrs. Noy McDaniels, Mrs.

Ellen Ely, Mrs. Mildred Smith and Mrs. Stella Dryden. No- Hostess Bridge Club Has Meeting Mrs. T.

A. Bessonette entertained for members of the NoHostess bridge club at her home Thursday afternoon when she served a one o'clock luncheon to her guests. Cards followed with high score held by Mrs. Harvey Martin, second high by Mrs. H.

R. Meredith and low to Mrs. Dewey Powell. Other guests present were Mrs. Benny Meyers, Mrs.

S. V. Pickett, Mrs. L. A.

Smith and Mrs. L. C. Carr. The group will meet on Thursday of the coming week at the home of Mrs.

Meredith at one o'clock. Miss Pruitt Is Bride of Neal Locker Miss Edith V. Pruitt became the bride of Mr. Neal D. Locker at a simple ceremony performed in the First Presbyterfan church Saturday evening, April the sixteenth, with Rev.

A. Theodore Smith reading the service. Both the bride and groom are residents of Klamath Falls. Mr. and Mrs.

J. R. Henry were attendants. Mr. and Mrs.

Locker will make their home in the Riverside apartments. Mr. Locker 1s employed with the California, Oregon Power Co. Pinochle Club With Mrs. Copinger The Wee Eight pinochle club met at the home of Mrs.

Doris Copinger in Altamont on Thursday afternoon, April the twenyfirst. The afternoon was spent playing cards and high score was held by Mrs. Florence Jones and low score Mrs. Florence Lee. Guests included Mesdames Florence Lee, Lillian Reiling, Dorothy Johnson, Ruth Schaeffer, Florence Jones, Sophia Nelson and the hostess, Mrs.

Copinger. Mothers Club To Meet on Sunday Members of the Mothers club of Sacred Heart Academy will hold their annual Dad's night banquet on April the twentyfifth, Monday night, past six o'clock in the Knights of Columbus hall. Mothers, fathers and friends of the stuare cordially invited. An interesting program has been arranged for the affair. 7 Music Week Is Planned Miss Lillie Darby An- nounces Plans For The Festival.

Observance of National Musio Week has been brought to the attention of Klamath Falls residents and opening the week will be a concert of sacred music in the First Christian church on Sunday evening at halt past seven o'clock, May the first. This was the announcement made by Miss Lillie E. Darby, chairman of Music Week in Klamath Falls. The state chairman is Mrs. Walter Denton of Salem, prominent in musio circles.

The sacred concert will bring together the choirs of the First Christian church, Miss Augusta Parker, director; the First Presbyterian church, Mr. H. M. Parkhurst, director and the Pirst Methodist church, Miss Lillie E. Darby, director.

The program will Include combined chorus numbers, solos, trios and organ selections and organists who will participate are Mrs. Mary L. Mow, Mrs. E. S.

Veatch and Mr. Hans Hoerlein. The public is invited to the concert. A silver offering will be taken. There are many plans for Music Week in Klamath Falls, according to Miss Darby.

In addition to the sacred concert on Sunday, the civic concert will be presented on Tuesday, May the third. The affair will be given at eight o'clock in the high school auditorium and Miss Darby is director of the men and women choruses. The civic orchestra is under the direction of Harry Borel. part. prominent Miss musicians Barbara Powers, violinist, will be the concert master, Mrs.

J. H. Clanahan, piano accompanist. Mr. Sherman Carter, bass baritone, will be the soloist for the evening.

A nominal tee will be asked for this concert to defray expenses. The Altamont school chorus, directed by Miss Ethel Fenwick and under the supervision of Mrs. C. A. Henderson, music supervisor of county schools, will also presented.

Two of Mr. Borel's outstanding violin pupils, Miss Elizabeth Burton and Robert Anderson, will be presented in two violin concerto numbers with Mrs. Clanahan at the piano. On Wednesday afternoon of the same week the elementary school music festival will be held in the armory at one-thirty o'clock and on Thursday afternoon the upper grades will participate. Friday, all day, the county schools will present their festival in the armory.

4 Homemaking Club Meets On Friday The Hit and Miss HomemakIng club of the Women of the Moose met at the KC hall on Friday, April fifteenth with twenty one members present. Hostesses were Mrs. Edna Jensen and Mrs. Ann Eccles. The birthday of Mrs.

Betty Wood was honored. The next meeting of the group will be held May the sixth with Mrs. Annette Hall and Mrs. Kathleen Hepburn as present were Mesdames Hall, Opal Biehn, Ethel Colvin, Blanche Dixon, Mable Ward, Mae Thompson, Edith Wiard. Maude Sargent, Sadie Rand, Clara Bellant, Betty Wood, Belle Tompkins, Florence Schriver, Mildred Benner, Mildred Wilkerson, Marguerite Wyook, Irma Clement, Ruby Burgess and Roscoe Biehn.

Happy Hour Club With Mrs. Ginsbach An enjoyable afternoon was spent by the Happy Hour club on Tuesday, April twelfth, when Mrs. N. D. Ginsbach entertained in the ladies room at the Elks temple.

Guests at the meeting were Mrs. John Uerlings and Mrs. C. C. McCullough.

Members present Included Mesdames George Biehn, Jennie, Hurn, Vera Barnhart, Hector, J. J. Keller, Alice Lawrence, H. J. Savidge, Albert Langer, W.

J. Steinmetz, R. G. Motschenbacher, Harry Richardson, Addie Sandell, H. E.

Jones and the hostess. Mrs. Lawrence will entertain at the next meeting of the club Tuesday afternoon, April the twenty-sixth, at her home on Crescent avenue. Winema Camp Fire Girls enJoyed a hike Saturday with their guardian, Lucille Riggs. Each girl prepared her own lunch and the afternoon was spent playing games taught by Mary Landry.

Winema girls present were Janet Christenson, Aileen Cornell, Helen Howry, Mary Landry, Dorothy Riggs, Maxine Liskey, Carmen Stockstill, Ruth Rogers, Nancy Bennett and Barbara Palmer. MISS LESH IS EASTER SUNDAY BRIDE IN CHURCH TULELAKE Boneath An arch of tulips, lilacs and other early spring blossoms, Miss Allison Lesh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lesh, Matheson, Callfornia, became the bride Easter Sunday of Edgar Osborne, son of Mr. and Mrs.

George W. Osborne, Tulelake. The evening ceremony was performed at eight o'clock in the Tulelake Presbyterian church by Rev. Hugh L. Bronson in the presence of immediate relatives of the young couple and a few intimate friends.

The bride, gowned in white taffeta, tip toe length, wore A silk net vell, caught about her head cap fashion with orange blossoms. Her arm bouquet was of talisman rosebuds. Attired in floor length blue lace, her only attendant, Miss Lura Osborne, groom, carried pink sweetpeas. James Lesh, brother of the bride, was best man. Mendelssohn's and "Song of the Eastern Star," were played by Miss Virginia Street before the ceremony folby Mrs.

Lloyd Urbach lowed, sang "Sweet Mystery of Life." Following the ceremony Street played Mendelssohn's wedding march. wedding reception at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. W.

Osborne was attended by thirtyfive guests. Later in the evening the young couple left for A trip to Portland, Seattle and other northern points. Before returning to Tulelake they will also visit in Berkeley. For her traveling costume, Mrs. Osborne wore a wine red and beige suit with matching accessories.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Osborne are graduates of the Tulelake high school, the bride having later attended the University of California at Davis. The groom graduated from the Untversity of California last year. Out-of-town guests for the ceremony and reception included Mr.

and Mrs. Carl Lesh and son Galen, parents and brother of the groom, Mrs. Melvin Arnold and son Roy, Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. William Edwards, daughter Audrey and son Robert, and Mr.

and Mrs. James Henders, Klamath Falls. LODGE MEMBERS VISIT ASHLAND LODGE TUESDAY A group of Klamath Falls residents, interested in Order of the Eastern Star, Journeyed to Ashland Tuesday evening of this week where they attended the district meeting OES. In the party were Mr. and Mrs.

H. R. Rahlke, Mrs. L. E.

Meade, Mrs. Walter West and Mrs. F. H. Coter.

Mrs. Meade 1s worthy matron of Aloha chapter, OES, and Mr. Rahlke is worthy patron. The grand matron made her official visit, Mrs. Hazel Ingram of The Dalles, and presented Mrs.

Florine Severance, past worthy matron of Jacksonville chapter, with an appointment as grand representafor Quebec, Canada. Mrs. Severance, whose appointment came as a surprise, well known to Eastern 'Star members here. Mrs. Sherman Is Hostess to Club Mrs.

Stella Sherman entertained her Bridge club at her home, 1827 Oregon avenue, Wednesday afternoon. A bridge luncheon wag served by the hostess Mesdames Edna Haupert, Jerry Rogers, Lucille Helfer, Kathleen Kuntz, Floyd Woodworth, Nora Shepard, and Ursel Bratton. High score was given to Mrs. Haupert and low to Mrs. Shepard.

The club will meet next week at the home of Mrs. Jerry Rogers on Crescent avenue. Miss Betty Packwood of Dunsmuir, and Mr. Thomas B. Wheeler, also of Dunsmuir, were married by the Rev.

A. Theodore Smith on Monday, April the elghteenth In the chambers of the circuit court. Attending the couple were Mr. and Mrs. O.

C. Ballentine and Mr. G. J. Dougherty was also a guest.

The couple will make their home in Dunsmulr. Mrs. Ruth Gleason entertained a group of friends at the home of Mrs. Gertrude Gilbert on Hillside avenue Thursday afternoon. Pinochle was played with Mrs.

Marjorie Nelson recelving high score and Mra. Rhoda Arnett consolation. A. one o'clock luncheon. was served by the hostess.

The Thimble club of Neighbors of Woodcraft will meet at the home of Mrs. L. A. Eschle, 447 Martin street, Tuesday afternoon, April twenty-sixth, at two o'clock. Pinochle will be played following the business meeting.

Jones were presented with a gift by the group. Lady Eagles Meet With Mrs. Hall The Lady Eagles club met at the home of Mrs. Annette Hall, 405. Martin street, for a one o'clock pot luck luncheon during the past week.

Twentytwo guests were present and birthdays observed were those of Mrs. Betty Wood and Mrs. Louise Lloyd. A handkerchief shower for Mrs. Ruby Burgess, who is leaving the city, was presented late in the afternoon.

The door prize was given Mrs. Effie Allenby. The next club meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Mary Lewis on the Lakeview highway, May the fifth. Birthday Party Given Mrs.

BLY Mrs. C. C. Walker, who lives at the Ivory Pine mill was honored with a stork shower by a number of her friends Thursday afternoon, April seventh. The afternoon was spent in visiting and entertainment.

Refreshments were served to the following: Mrs. P. S. Bridgewater, Mrs. Elmer Stewart, Mrs.

Claude Paulos, Mrs. Harold Morton, Mrs. Ross McMillan, Mrs. W. C.

White and Mrs. Walker. BLY Barbara Detrick was hostess for the Sunshine Workers Sunday school class of which she is a member, Saturday afternoon. The clown motif was used which was carried out in the refreshments of clowns made of ice cream and cake, tiny paraffin bottles filled with pop and ballons for favors. Members of the class attending were Lois Osborn, Jackie Christensen, Maiva Parent, Francis Vaughn, Patricia Miller, Marie Marlen, Doris Gibbons, Mable McMillan, Jessie McMillan, Loretta Griffen, Arletta Howle, Orvena McGinnis and the hostess, Barbara Detrick.

Other little friends attending were invited as special guests. BLY Mrs. Gene Ihstrom was hostess at a birthday dinner Sunday honoring her husband, Gene Ihrstrom and Walter Haskins, whose. birthdays fall on the same day. Each honor guest was presented with a birthday cake.

Those attending the dinner were Mr. and Mrs. George Hamilton, Fred Hector, Elmer Lindmark, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Haskins, and Mr.

and Mrs. Gene Ihstrom and two daughters, Florence and Betty. BLY The Ladies Aid of the Methodist church met at the Gene Community, Detrich Wednesday afternoon with about thirty members present. The ladies voted to hold a basket social May twentyeighth to raise funds for the church. A program will be presented at the same time.

The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Fred Stone with Mrs. Warren Osborn as hostess. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Degree Of Honor Will Meet Monday Members of the Degree of Honor will meet at the Elks temple April the twenty-fifth for inspection.

A class for initiation will also be presented. A no-hostess dinner at the Pellcan Grille at half past six o'clock is planned and all members of other states living here are invited to attend. RICHARD HESSIG The former Miss Jean Closson of Klamath Falls became the bride of Mr. Hessig at an Easter week wedding ceremony in the First Methodist church.

The Hessigs are on a motor trip into Old Mexico, planning to return here to make their home. MISS CLOSSON IS ATTRACTIVE BRIDE OF EASTER MONDAY Easter Monday was the day chosen by Miss Jean Closson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Carter Tennant, California, for her marriage to Mr. Richard L.

Hessig of Klamath Falls, The ring ceremony was read at three o'clock Monday afternoon in the Methodist church with Rev. John Warrell reading the services. The bride wore a smart earing suit of navy blue WOO A matching blue hat In halo effect. White ac completed her costume. She wore a corsage of gardenias and lilies of the valley.

Miss Jo Hessia, sister of the groom, was the bride's only attendant. She wore a spring tailleur with white necessories and her corsage was fashioned of pink rosebuds and sweet peas. Mr. Dan Melhase WItS best man. Following the ceremony the wedding party and guests were entertained at supper in the Pelican Grille, Covers were laid for 20 at one large table where a centerpiece of pink sweet peas and roses was used.

Tall pink tapers in silver sticks and the beautifully decorated bride's cake completed the appointments. Mr. and Mrs. Hesslg left on a two week's wedding trip by motor which will take them to Encinada, Tijuana In old Mexico, San Diego and other California cities. Both Mr.

and Mrs. Hessig are graduates of Klamath Union high school and well known in Klamath Falls where Mr. Hessig is in business. Mr. Hessig is the son of Mr.

and Mrs. John H. Hessig of North Tenth street. Wedding guests included Dr. and Mrs.

M. Odell, superintendent of the state's tuberculosis hospital at The Dalles, will be guests of honor at the annual dinner of the Klamath County Publie Health association Thuraday evening. April twenty-eighth, at the Elk hotel. Some of the ways that the tuberculosis Christmas seal dollars are spent will be explained by Mra. Dunbar who was one of the original founders of the state association for prevention and cure of thin disease, For the past twenty -two years Mra.

Dunbar has held the position of executive secretary to the association. Also of interest to clubwomen is the fact that Mrs. Dunbar is the unopposed candidate for president of the General Federation of Women's which will meet In convention at Kansas City, May tenth to seventeenth, and which Includes more than two million women. For the past ten years Mra. Dunbar has been on the executive committee of the federation that now seeks her for its president for the next three years.
