The pleasant evening hours were spent in visiting. the year. The main project for the year is the annual rummage sale, which will be held Oct. 22, at the Woman's Club. All members are asked to start collecting material for this sale, as this is one of the outstanding rummage sales of the year.

It was suggested this year to have potted plants, bulbs, surprise 5 10c packages, small furniture and as last year there will be at least one used washing machine. Mrs. Donald Dole was introduced as a new member. Airs. Kenneth Ford told of a few, but most interesting experiences her daughter Carmen had in Europe this summer.

She was one of three girls that was a YMCA representative from this area. The girls went to Europe by ship. As they went through the Panama Canal on the 4th of July, it was announced "this is U.S. Independence Day" and the band played the U.S. National anthem.

Carmen has traveled in Germany, Austria, Italy, France and Norway this summer. While in Germany and Austria they tried to leave the idea with the people, let the past be the past, and live together now in harmony. The birls arrived back in New York this week by plane. Carmen will attend Willamette University this fall. Mrs.

Arlo Jacklin with her husband attended the National Rotary convention in Chicago in June and reviewed briefly their trip. The Roland Wests and John Kunyans also attended this convention. Mrs. George Sime. of Boseman.
