Swinehart Mrs. Ida Shipe Dial 797-3161 Dial 797-4522 Red Devils Await First Home Game A large crowd of fans is expected to be on hand this afternoon when Trevorton High School Red Devils make their home debut. Trevorton will meet the PorterTower Panthers in a Twin Valley Conference game. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:15.

Both teams opened their conference schedules last weekend, with Trevorton downing Perry Joint, defending champion, 26-0, while Porter-Tower a 13-0 decision to Upper Dauphin High. Trevorton High School Band, under direction of Charles Rau, will provide music. The PorterTower High band is also scheduled to appear at halftime. The Trevorton band made a hit last Saturday afternoon at New Bloomfield. Trevorton Colts To Play Tomorrow After being rained out last Sunday, the Trevorton Colts of the Shamokin Area Midget Football Conference will resume activities tomorrow afternoon.

The Colts will meet the Shamokin Bears, 1959 champions of the conference, tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 on Trevorton High School field. The Trevorton team is coached by Bob Korenkiewiez and Al Sabo, former Coal Township High School football stars, and Ben "Muzzy" Berra, Trevorton. The coaches plan to start Joe Kehler as quarterback, "Nip" Bray and Paul Bennick, halfbacks, and Mike Schwartz, fullback. The Colts will travel to Coal Township High School stadium on Wednesday night to meet the Wildcats in the first night game of the season. One Man Called By Draft Board Selective Service Board No.

117, Sunbury, which has jurisdiction over the Trevorton area, will induct only one person from the lower end of the county this month. Board officials announced today that the inductee is Lewis W. and Mrs. Otto Faeth, Ridgewood, Queens, New York. Miss Irene J. Brezgel, R.N. Miss Brezgel is a graduate of Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Lancaster.

She also attended Hunter College in New York City, and is now employed at the Brooklyn Veterans Hospital. Mr. Faeth has a master's degree from Fordham University, New York City. He served with the United States Army in Korea. At present, he is teaching German and history at St.

Peter's Prep School in Jersey City, N. J. Before being employed at the veterans' hospital in Brooklyn, Miss Berzgel served three years as a first Lieutenant in the United States Air Force. She was stationed at Webb Air Force Base, Big Springs, Tex. The couple will be married next month.

Bethel Union Chapel Will Mark Rally Day Rally Day will be observed tomorrow in Bethel Union Chapel, West Cameron Township. The Rev. Lester Kerstetter, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Marine Private First Class Samuel S. Spears, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Spears, 6 North Franklin Street, recently completed annual marksmanship training while serving with the Third Battalion, Eighth Marines, an infantry, unit of the Second Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

The annual markmanship training and re-qualification firing is an important part of the corps' continuous training program. William W. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, 641 South Diamond Street, has arrived in Fort Dix, N.

Miss Induk Pak, missionary on furlough, will address SOciety members during a meeting Saturday, September 24. Miss Pak will observe her birthday anniversary on that date, and will be honored during a dinner at 6:00 in the church rooms.

The meeting will follow at 7:30 p. and the public has been invited to attend. Announcement was made the education seminar for officers and secretaries will be held September 21 in Riverside Methodist Church. Mrs. William Snyder, president, was in charge of the business meeting.

Discussion was held on the annual tureen dinner, tentatively scheduled for October 20. Methodist women will serve as hosts. "The Purpose Becomes Action" was the topic of the devotional program. Mrs. Helen Mangle was leader.

The group sang a hymn, "Faith of Our and Mrs. William Snyder gave the call to worship and read Scripture. Mrs. Addison Swank was in charge of the meditation, and she read the lyrics to the song, Word of God Mrs. Alma George offered prayer, and Mrs.

Mangle gave a report on pose of the W.S.C.S. She explained societies have maintained schools in 33 countries. Devotions closed with the song, "Jesus Shall Reign." A social period was held and refreshments were served by Mrs. Evelyn Crowl and Mrs. Helen 1 Mangle.

Parent-Teacher Unit To Meet Monday Night A "get night will be observed during a meeting of Elysburg Parent-Teacher Association Monday night at 8:00 in the school building. Polio Cases Drop (UPD) There were 154 new polio cases in the United States last week, the U.S. Public Health Service reports. It said this was a sizable decrease from the 217 new cases the previous week. and Mrs. Earl Herring, Market and Center Streets, and is married to the former Miss Eleanor Roadarmel, Elysburg. He was graduated from Ralpho Township High School and Lycoming College, and attended Philadelphia Bible School. He is a sophomore student at Wesley Theological Seminary, and has pastorates at Mapleton Depot and Jill Creek. Brennan Couple Married At Marion Heights Miss Helen Mary Okronglis, 217 East Sixth Street, Mount Carmel, became the bride of Joseph Kerr, 648 Pine Street, Kulpmont, this morning at 9:00 Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Marion Heights. The Rev. Basil Tremba, pastor, officiated during the double ring ceremony.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Okronglis, Mount Carmel, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs.

Joseph Kerr, Kulpmont. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of pure fashioned with a scalloped Sabrinas neckline, long sleeves and a billowing skirt. The bodice was styled with a front panel of sequin-trimmed Rosepoint lace. The skirt of taffeta and net terminated in a chapel-length train. Her fingertip-length veil of imported illusion fell from a crown of lace, studded with iridescent sequins and seed pearls, and she carried a cascade bouquet of gardenias and white rosebuds.

Miss Cecilia Kukish, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor, and Miss Rita Chapman was bridesmaid. The attendants were attired alike in floor-length gowns of violet taffeta and net, styled with scoop necklines, puffy sleeves and bouffant skirts with pouffed backs. They wore crown headpieces, with short veils, and carried crescent bouquets of pink roses. Kenneth Kerr, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Paul Olshefski, cousin of the bride, was usher.

Men of the wedding party wore formal attire. Rita Chapman sang "Ave Maria," "Mother at Thy Feet 1S Kneeling" and Lord, I Am Not Worthy." For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Okronglis wore a blue dress of Chantilly lace and pure silk, matching accessories and a corsage of pink roses. Mrs. Kerr, mother of the bridegroom, was attired in a taupe-colored dress and wore brown accessories and a corsage of pink roses.

A reception was held in the Elks Home, Mount Carmel. Mrs. Kerr was graduated from Mount Carmel High School and has. been employed by Bell Telephone Company, Mount Carmel. The bridegroom was graduated from Kulpmont High School and Bucknell University and is employed by Merck, Riverside.

Yablonski Spruce Street Resident Expires Zigmund Frank Yablonski, 55. of 756 Spruce Street, Kulpmont, died last evening at 9:15 in Shamokin Hospital. Mr. Yablonski was taken to the hospital in Kulpmont Community Ambulance.

Death was attributed to miner's asthma. Born in Mount Carmel, June 23, 1905, Mr. Yablonski worked as a miner in area collieries for 33 years. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs.

Alex Yablonski. The late Kulpmont resident was married May 8, 1931, in St. Stanislaus Church, Shamokin, to the former Lottie Kowalewski. Mr. Yablonski attended Kulpmont.

Midgets to Seek Second Victory Kulpmont Midgets will seek their second victory of the season tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 in Kulpmont Stadium. The Bears downed the Cardinals, 21-7, and the Tigers, 39-0. Kulpmont, in its only game this season, defeated Trevorton, Sunday's game between Kulpmont and the Shenandoah Red Raiders was postponed because of rain. In other games, Mount Carmel downed Tamaqua and Minersville defeated Schuylkill Haven, 27-12. Kulpmont plays both Mount Carmel and Minersville. Three other foes of the Blue and White will play today.

They are Frackville, Coaldale and Blue Mountain. Frackville will be at Nesquehoning, Coaldale will be host to Jim Thorpe and Blue Mountain will meet St. Clair at Cressona. Kulpmont Man Injured In Accident at Work Henry D. Sgro, 35, of 533 West Spruce Street, reported to Shamokin Hospital dispensary this morning for X-ray examination and treatment of an injury received yesterday while at work.

Hospital attaches said Sgro has a laceration of the index finger and a slight bruise of the third finger of the left hand. The Kulpmont man said he was injured when his hand was caught in a machine at the Arcwire plant at Green Ridge. Church Bells to Call Out Bloomsburg Voters Church bells in Bloomsburg will ring every hour on the hour Monday to remind voters that liberty and freedom can only be preserved by the use of the free ballot and that to be eligible to vote November 8, residents of the community must be registered. Monday is the last day for registration of all presently unqualified voters. Church bells will ring again on the hour on election day, reminding all to turn out and vote.
