The unexpected resignation of Dr. Drake, whose talent and reputation were justly appreciated, seemed to impose the necessity of reducing the number of professorships, and as a consequence of that reduction, of vacating the chair of Obstetrics and the Diseases of Women and Children. Doctor Maorhead, who was known to be eminently qualified for the duties of that chair, was transferred to it, from the chair of Theory and Practice, at his own and Doctor Eberle, whose fame isprovorbial. was appointed to the chair vacated by the transfer of Doctor Moorhead.

It is believed, that all the chairs oftho Institution are now filled by professors, whose talents and devotion to medical science, will bear an advantageous comparison with those of any other institution with which we are acquainted. An unusual degree of harmony and good feeling exists in the Faculty, which insures a cordial and united effort to advance the great objects oftho school, and it ia believed, that the present arrangement is such as to warrant public confidence and justify the expectation of emeient and permanent patronage. In all their deliberations, the Board have steadily kept in view, as the only motive of their conduct, the prosperity and usefulness oftho College, and the elevation of the medical character, in the Western country. The entire cost of a full course of Lectures, being at the rate of $15 for each ticket, and $3 for matriculation and the use ofthe Library, is ninety-three dollars. The Hospital ticket is a sepirato charge of five dollars, which the student may taka or omit, athis pleasure.

He was alive last night at 9 o'clock, but his recovery was considered extremely doubtful. The bey at 204 Chambers street, (named Sutton,) retired in his usual health on Monday night, awoke his parents by his cries about 1 o'clock yesterday morning, had the same symptoms which have attended all the other cases, and died about 1 o'clock, P. M.
