Davis and are now ready. for occupancy. A description reads: "Th building contain twelve apartment of two and thre rooms, arranged conveniently as to floor plan and beautifully decorated throughout. The larger apartments have an extra bedroom a well a roll about wall beds. A feature of the various suite Is the wall paper selections from Marcu Merrick.

These patterns vary with th different apartments. The bath rooms are unusually large for buildings of this typa and the tiling is in color. Both turn and shower baths have been provided. The dinettes are tastily papered and furnished with breakfast set finished in mahogany and beautifully decorated, "The kitchens have been conveniently arranged In regard to range and sinks. The ranges are of the Spark type.

In color. All of the apartments have hardwood floors throughout, and cupboard space ha been amply provided In th Interior hall. The furnishing ar uniformly high-grade, consisting In part of two-piece chesterfield sets with occasional chair, center table and floor lamp. THB CLIMATE. The climate of Oakland may be described as a combination of several types of climates. Bhlpp, secretary of the newly-formed organisation, neao-quarters for which have been established at Hi Fourteenth street The El Sobrante Golf club, a It will be known, will boast of a com rHete 18-hole course plotted by William Watson, famous Ban Fran-cIim anil Anselea colt archi tect, situated on 216 acres of Ideally adaptable land In a protected valley just north of the San Pablo Dam highway and within an hour's drive from the heart of Oakland. According to Bhlpp, approximate, ly 1800,000 will be expended In the purchase of the land, which Is now under option, the construction of the course, which will have every natural and mechanical advantage, the building of a club house and the ourchase of equipment.

Construction will proceed as rapidly as possible and it is expected that the course will be open for play not later than September 1930. It is elated that the El Sobrante club has been organized as a nonprofit body under tha laws of the state of California, with tha purpose In view of making golf Inexpensively available to all resident of the Bay region. L'Hommedlan, director, and B. C. McDougall, director. A number of Interesting features of the new club are pointed out by its secretary as being unique in the annals of golf club organization. Of primary interest are the pro-posal low cost off membership, dues and playing privileges, the guaranteed freedom from ass em ments and the liberality of family and guest privileges which will be in effect' Rigid economies, Bhlpp states, will be enrorced without sacrifice ot quality.

The clubhouse will be attractive and will contain every convenience for members and gueet. Plans call for the vest ing of responsibility for mainten ance of the course and all of ths features of the club In a separate organization which will free club members of all coat other than dues and green fees. 'The course Itself" Bhlpp said today, "will be of championship length and calibre. It has already been laid out by William Watson, and will rank with the finest course in Northern California. It will include practice driving tee and a large, nine hols cutting green.
