who died at Greenfield, were brought home yesterday for burial here, lier death is a sad blow to her husband and many friends and relatives. She was only twenty-four years of age. 1 ihiu CiifiunaU ri.ii. I The death of Mrs. Tom Mitchell occurred at her residence on east Osage street last Wednesday morning at 3 o'clock.

Her funeral services wero conducted by Kev. D. ll. Love, at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening, attended by a large number of our leading anil prominent citizens. Her remains were shipped by the 5 o'clock train Thursday morning to her former home in Madlson-ville, Ohio, for interment.

Church, L. A. Bell and Jack Camaron, of Knightstown, were in the city on Sunday last. They came over to look at Dye Lake with a view of camping a few days at the lake. They were highly pleased with the same, and will return about July Sth, with a party of eight gentlemen and ladles and go into camp for several days.

S. S. Spangler returned home Sunday morning from the Missouri and Kansas trip well pleased with the country. While stopping at Chanute, he met the Greenfield folks that moved there from here, and Dr. Edwards, one of them, had a horse and buggy in readiness to go around the suburbs of Chanute.

The bicycle race of Hollingswortii created good deal of excitement in this city on Friday last. In fact the excitement ran very high nil along his travels. All day long a large crowd was waiting to see him arrive and depart.

During the evening the Cornet Band wa brought out to sernade him. All of the gentlemen connected with the trial went away from our city with a high estimate of our uitizens. The work on the now fair grounds is pro gressing very finely. The track is about completed and will soon be ready to drive over. Several parties are waiting for the same to begin training on. Tho carpen ters are now nusuy engaged upon the buildings, and some of them are nearly completed. Tho sham battle to be given at Lafayette, July 31, during the en ampment of the Indiana Legion and visiting companies, will be upon a scale never before attempted at a similar gathering in the State, aud will exhibit the action and movements of troops under actual lire, with such a realistic effect that the onlookers will see war itself, save tho actual flow of blood and consequent sacrifice of life.

McGrlffin and Ebert Emmons, arrested at Indianapolis last week, on a charge of stealing geese, and who were allowed to go to their homes "on a floater" by Judge Clarke, ot the Criminal Court, were re-arrested Saturday evening last, by Sheriff Jackson and placed in jail to await the order of the Criminal Court at Indianapolis. They were taken to that city Tuesday to await the aotion of the Court. It is understood that additional charges have been preferred against them, and it is supposed they now stand a fair chance of taking a trip over the road.
