Virgil Hoover qt Springfield visited hie parents Saturday night.

Mra, Nancy Hoover bas been quite sick the last week. Henry Skaggs moved back to his place last week. Branch Meeting Revs. W. N.

Sutton and N. J. Bresbears have held a three weeks meting at this place, together except the last week. Rev. N.

J. Breshears -got sick and had to go home leaving the meeting with Rev. N. Sutton the last neck the There. first were 49 conversione, two weeks and 21 the last week.

There were 49 additions to the church. We bave a church here just six months old with 71 members, Rev, W. N. Sutton and Rev. W.

Rush organized the church six months ago, There were 26 baptized in this meeting. 10 the 13th and 16 the 20. The baptizing WAR done by the pastor, Rev. W. R.

Rush. There ere several more for baptism later. Contributed FOOSE Ben Childress is reported sick at this writing. Dolph Cooksey of Greene county visited his mother, Mr. Fannie Cooksey, last of the week.

Mre. Linda Schofield of Bol- ivar Mrs. Harold Johnson of Buffalo were visitors at the Marion Vangilder home Thursday. E. T.

Severns, Jim Alexander, Jim Hanley and Willie Gause attended the Farw Club meeting here Saturday night. Millard Henson and wife. of March visited her sister, Mrs. Maud Lambeth, Sunday. George Agee and wife are the proud parents of a new girl, who made ber arrival the 14th.

Charley Reed made a business trip to Halfway last Saturday. Mrs. Charley Crider and Ada' Jones visited Mrs. Zella Fraker Sauday. Lew Bishop and wife of Springfield speut Thursday night at the John Lambeth home.

Mrs. Anna Thompson and children visited Mrs. Mary Bruadridge Sunday afternoon. Laport of Committee on Relief for the Armenians and Chinese The three active churches of the town arranged to have the solicitation for this relief, work done by joiut committees representing the various churches of the town. 4'va Walker. This committce has completed its work, and is indeed pleased with the response accorded their efforts. The ya ious committees secured ore hendred -six dellars and righty cents. The teachers and pupils of the grades of the Buffalo school gave seventeen dollars and sixty-two cents. The little folks and their teachers are to be com.

mended for their worthy efforts. A total of one bundred forts-fou dollars and forty-two cents we secured which was divided equaily between the Chinese and Armeriant and has already been started 1h. ugh the proper channels to the suffering ones. The committee wishes to state if there has Leen any one missed in this solicitation, it was a mere over sight. and such parties can make their contributions to Mrs.

Adrain Jenkins of Cliquct, Mo. visited his eister, Mrr. Geo. Cleland and family last week. J.

E. Fullerton and wife spent last Suuday at the home of his brother, Allen Fullerton, near Prairie Grove. W. Wilsbire came in from Calif. Monday of this Week, to visit relatives.

Several friends and neighbora spent a very pleasant time let Saturday right at the bome of Fred Squire in honor of bis 16 birtiday. Candy breaking was the principal amusement and a royel good time was bad. All unite in wishing Fred many more happy birthdays. OLIVE LEAF OLIVE LEAF Eld. J.

Mr. and Mrs. Orus Howerton who have been visiting Mrs. Howerton'a uncle and aunt, Mr. aud Mrs.

G. T. Sharp, left Wednesday for their home in Kansas City. The infant SOD of Mr. and Mrs.

Artbur Sprague fell into the fire Wednesday morning land seriously burned bis bands. Miss Laura Allen spent the we eud with ber sister, Mrs. Harse Canvon, of Spring Grove. Mrs. Geo T.

Sharp is ou the sick list. Howard Routh, Noble Cooksey and Lowell Creek attended church at Mt. Pleasant No. 1 Sunday. Obituary William Abner, only son of James and Ethel Luida Southard, was born in Dallas County Feb.

26, 1847. He died at Buffalo, Feb. 16, 1921, being 73 years, 11 months and 16 days of age. He was married to Francis America Bray, Jan. 18, 1866.

To them were boru 4 children, Noah Southard, Greeley, Geo, Soutbard, Buffalo, Mrs. Rua Griener, Parkerville, Kans, and Mre. Lizzie: Inffman, Los Angeles, Calif. Elis companion died Dec. 11, 1913.

At the age of 19 Bro. WAS converted, uniting, with the Missionary Baptist church at New Hope, of wbieb institution he was 8. member. at death. He leaves his four children, twelve grand, children, seven sisters, seven great grand children and bosts of brethren and friends to mourn his departure.

"Write blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. Yea from henceforth gaith the spirit they shall rest from their labours and their works do follow them." Funeral services were held at New Hope last Friday, con dneted by Rev. V. R. Walker and interment was made in the New Hope cemetery.

Cont'd. CRESENT Farmers have been quite busy this plowing and some few planting oats. Elenry Anderson and family apent Sunday at Chas. Andersou's. Messrs.

Ray and Geo. Johoston spent Wednesday afternoon at the. Floyd Meyers home. The Farmers' debate and ciphering match was well attended. The question was resolved "That a Protective Tar ff sbould be Levied on the Farmers' Products." The affirmative side won.

The farmers were defeated in the ciphering match. The question for debate next club meeting is resolved that "The Farmer's Wife Sees a Harder Time than the Farmer 19 'The debaters on the affirmative side are Miss Anna earne, Ernie Cox and Mrs Fred Killion. Negatve, Mre, Floyd Meyere, Mrs. Virgil Walker and Mrs. George Cleland.

There will be a pie supper at the Creseut school house next Farm Club meetiug. the preceeds to go to Libdley chu ch to belp pay for their 80. All are invited to come and brit pies. The Cresent Farm Ciub isi leading in the membersbip drive, having all bat two in the district. Reynolds is a close second.

His was an expensive death to the lumber industry, but we are all better off. Excuse us for being disrespectful to the dead, but old Hi was a curse while living.
