The building in which the explosion occurred was used for a granary, poultry house and garage.

In the poultry section, a chicken brooder was equipped with a gas heater, and Mrs. David turned out the gas. but a small spark of fire is believed to have remained in the mixer. She was spraying the walls with gr.s--I:ne to kill the chicken lice and when the room became filled with the fumes, it is believed that the small fatr.es set off the explosion, which fired the building immediately, and f-et Mrs. David's clothing on fire.

Mr. David was working in a field nearby and heard the explosion, and saw his wife running out of the building in flames, and when he reached her. the clothing was burned on' her body. Other neighbors heard the report and came to their assistance and fought the flames with water. A call was sent to the local fire department and Firemen Moffit and West, in charge of tbe chemical truck, reached ILsi tcer.e in seven minutes.

Coupled wth the vast amount of poster advertising that will cover this county and surrounding communities, the publicity for the centennial anniversary will herald the event far and wide. The committee in charge of this feature has laid plans that will make the final weeks before the anniversary, ones that will be memorable for the extent of advertising that will pour out to the thousands who will attend the gathering here.

The executive committee is daily receiving reports from various townships of the county, detailing the progress of the arrangements being made and from each there is the indication that the interest in the coming event is at a fever pitch.
