Drake, Gridley farmer, Is growing pastalum on his ranch east of here; This is the-only planting of- this variety of plant growing in the Sac ramento' valley.

Sesman was lined up with eleven other men who were told to change coats and hats several times. At the conclusion of this the women were told to identify the man they believed to be the chain store bandit Eight of the fifteen women pieked out Sesman. GOGGLES FOVXD. Sesman was taken into custody yesterday afternoon by Police Inspector William Marshall at Twentieth and Market streets. Mar-, "hall, riding along Market street, glanced at a touring car parked at the corner and noticed the last thtee numbers on the license cor responded to the number of the bandit machine.

Parking his own car down the street, Marshall sauntered back and found the license plate corresponded with the chain store bandit-machine. Drawing a revolver, Marshall ordered the man seated in the car to throw up his hands and step from-the machine. He handcuffed Sesman and took him and a woman companion to the city hall. Despite identification by chain store clerks, Sesman steadfastly denies he is implicated in any hold-. ops.

WOMAN" TTRXS SLEUTH. -According to Marshall, a cap and toggles were found in Sesman's machine. Under the seat were found fifteen bills. A search of Sesman's roomxat 338 Twenty-first street, according to police, revealed another pair of goggles, hammer, mallet and fifteen feet of ropa hidden in a browiK leather bag. A quantity of canned goods and a radio set with the name and number scratched off, which police believe to have been stolen, was also found.

Sesman was known at the Twen--ty-flrst street address as Dr. Sesman. He is declared to have posed as an Industrial chemist and efficiency expert. When searched at the city hall following his arrest yesterday, Ses- man was found-to have 160 in change on his person. SCSPECT IDENTIFIED.

Sesman's arrest was the result i "tletective work on the part of Clara Frentz. manager of the chain store at 2503 Fourteenth ave-us, 'who was held up and robbed 412.60 on July IS. On September 22 Mrs. Frentz heard the acreaching- of brakes and saw a large touring car stop in front of thetore. Fearing another holdup Frentz grabbed the monev baf and ran into the street where recognized the driver as the man who held her up previously.

She took the license number of the car and asked a passer-bv its make. Mrs. Frentz then "tele-jihoned this information to police.
