Sunday, September 2f, IMS i wed i i i 'old tree Leinne Arledge, daughter of Mr, and MM Larry Arledge of Pandale and Ozona, became the bride of William H. Hlggini ion of W.M. Higgins Sr. of Coahoma and the late Talley Higgins Aug. 31 at Camp Whispering Oaks In Buffalo Gap, Texas.

Holltg Talley, minister of Palm Street Church of Christ in Abilene and uncle of the 'bridegroom, performed the double ring ceremony in a clearing beneath an old pecan tree. the bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a dress of white embroidered English lace with fitted bodice, sheer yoke with high lace collar and puffed short sleeves. Lace in two deep tiers formed the tea- length skirt. Her hat of matching lace and bow of Illusion was secured with a family heirloom hatpin for something borrowed from Madye Jo Humphreys of Ozona.

Something blue was a garter; something new was a gold chain, a gift of the bridegroom, and something old was a French cameo that belonged to the bride's great- grandmother. She carried silk pink and white roses, carnations, gladioli and gypsophelia on Victorian lace with satin streamers. Attending her sister as matron of honor was Mrs. Joe L. Brown of Pumpville and her daughter, Jodye.

Another sister, Mrs. Penn Baggett of Ozona and her daughters, Leana Sue and Whitney, and Mrs. Rick Vannoy qf Midland were bridal attendants. They wore shadow striped tulle over pink tissue taffeta and carried long stemmed pink silk roses. Jimmy Campbell of Big Spring was best man; David Higgins of Big Spring and Tim Higgins of Midland served their brother as Wedding music was provided by relatives of the bridegroom, Mr.

and Mrs. Pete Talley of Amarillo. uncle and aunt, and Living Today Section MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM H.

HIGGINS JR. Mr. and Mrs. Randy Talley of Odessa, cousins. At the reception following the wedding, the bride's table was centered with a backdrop of white imported screens decorated with grape ivy and pink and white flowers.

Brass and crystal appointments were used on the table, laid in white sheer with pink flowers and satin bow swags. The three-tiered wedding cake was decorated with pink and white roses. A Victorian arrangement of pink and white silk roses, carnations and gladioli in a brass epergne centered the table. Serving at the reception were aunts and cousins of the bridegroom. At the bride's table were Mrs.

Hollis Talley and Holly and Mrs. Danny Leach. The bridegroom's table, with brass and crystal appointments, was centered against a backdrop wood screens and wars laid in a burgundy cloth, white swags tied with burgundy bows. A contemporary arrangement of burgundy and pink silk lilips in a wicker basket centered the table. The German chocolate cake was topped with clusters of chocolate grapes.

Coffee was poured from a brass samovar. At the bridegroom's table were Mrs. Don Evans and Missy and Michelle Leach. Mary Ann Talley registered the guests. The wedding was held during the annual reunion of the W.C.

and Mattie Talley family and was a first for that occasion as well as the first wedding to be held at Camp Whispering Oaks. The bride attended Ozona public schools, Abilene Christian High School and Abilene Christian University. She was employed by Short and CPA, in Midland. The bridegroom attended Coahoma public schools and Howard County Junior College. Big 'SfiyfyiSfRi couple are students of Texas Tech University In Lubbock, where they are at home at 707 N.

and Mrs. Reynold G. Valdez announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Jane to Capt. Michael W. Madar of Pittsburgh, Penn.

The wedding is planned for Oct. 19 at Randolph Air Force -Base in San Antonio. Miss Valdez is a 1977 graduate of Del Rio High School and a 1983 graduate of Southwest Texas State University, receiving a bachelor's degree in guidance and counseling. Capt. Madar is a graduate of Slippery Rock State College and completed pilot training in 1982 at Laughlin Air Force Base.

The couple will reside in Rhode Island, where Capt. Madar is currently assigned as a company commander.
