Another attractive entertainment given for the Sul Ubss faculty members who will not return to Sul Ross next year was given by Mrs. George Baines on Saturday evening. The honorees were: Miss Lancaster, dean of women; Miss Elliott of the Spanish department; Miss Aynesworth of the English department: Miss Peek, librarian, and Misa Kline of the department of music.

The atttractire ranch home of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Buttrill waa the scene of an enjoyable dance Tuesday evening when Mrs.

Buttrill complimented Miss Lavenia Crawford, who has been attending Sul Ross, but will leave in a few days for Phoenix, Arix. Mr. and Mrs. W. E.

Smith of De Queen, were among the tourists in Alpine this week. Other tourists here are Mrs. A J. Hilton and daughter Nellie of Hot Springs, Mr. Montgomery and family of Armstrong countv.

Mrs. A. K. Wear and daughter; Miss Kennith. of Ranger, and a large number of tourists en route to the Davis mountains, whose names were not obtained.

Miss Anne Avnesworth. who has been with Sul Ross college for four years, will go to Columbia university for the winter, after visiting her relatives for a few days in Lampasas. Mrs. J. Middlebrook has returned from a visit to Dallas, Fort Worth, Houaton and other points.

Miss Ruth Minder of Los Angeles, who spent the summer in Al-pinehas returned to her home. Dr. and Mrs. C. Webb and little daughter Natka of Rayne, are in Alpine on a visit to Mr.

and Mrs. T. O. Webb. A.

A. Newell has returned from Medina Lake, Houston, Louisiana and other points, where he took his summer, vacation. Judge C. R. Sutton of Del Rio has been in Alpine the past two weeks presiding over district court, which has been in session here.

Miss-Emily Kemp of El Paso is the house gnest of Miss Thalia Gillette this week. Former Assistant Attorney General Meade of the firm of Mead Metcalfe of Marfa has been in Alpine attending district court. Miss Eva Sweet is taking her vacation with borne folks in Fort Worth thia week. LEAGUE CITY. A play given under the auspices of the Presbyterian Ladies' Aid was produced at the high school-auditorium Tuesday night, the name being "Listen Ladies," and was a big success.

The cast consisted of MisB Norma Dirk, Miss Ella Rents, Miss Mildred Wright, Mrs. Medsger, Miss Artrude Dugat, Miss Gertrude Kelly Mrs. J. E. Walker.

Mrs. Park, Miss Violet Hall and Mrs. Waites. The play consisted of two acts and in between the acts Miss Violet Hall gave reading accompanied by Miss Mildred' McKibben at the piano. A solo by Roy Lewis, a solo by little Miss Lelia Beth Davis, a reading by Misa Alice Wslker of Houston, a duet by Misses Ilia Kay and Hattie May Mc-Kinney, a song by six girls.
