The music was furnished by Mrs. A. P. Allen and Mrs. Lloyd Pinkston.

BRIDAL SHOWER IS DELIGHTFUL AFFAIR YONCALLA- Miss Martha Lanan, home economics teacher in Yoncalla High School and Albert Hoffman, grade school principal, there honored at a party, given by faculties of the high school and grade school Monday evening in the home economic room. A delicious dinner was served, followed by visiting. Miss Lanan will become the bride of Mr. Hoffman June 30th, at the home of the bride-elect's father in Kingston, Ill. The honored guests received a lovely gift from the faculties.

The table was beautidecorated. A miniature lake formed the centerpiece, with a small log at one side where a tiny gal and her. swetheart were idly fishing. Hoffman is an ar. dent fisherman.

Those present were Miss Mar. tha Lanan, Albert Hoffman, Prof. and Mrs. Leroy Hanson, Mr. and Mrs.

Archie Thomas, Mrs. Shoenberger, Harry Hubbard, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas, Mr. and Mrs.

Earl Brant, Mrs. Gertrude Stoute, Mrs. Sally Farley and Mrs. Edith Bowman. COUNTRY CLUB WOMEN TO MEET THURSDAY Women of the Roseburg Country Club will meet Thursday morning at nine-thirty o'clock at club course for golfing.

Luncheon will be served at the clubhouse at twelve-thirty o'clock and the weekly contract bridge bridge play will begin at onethirty o'clock. Yessir, THE preferred whiskey from Kentucky (Society and Clubs by the Master, Fred Brauninger, with seventy-one and visitors present. The roll call found all officers present. Grange was lowered to the 1st degree. The Elkhead degree team exemplified the 1st and 2nd degree with Master Lloyd Pinkston in the chair.

After a short recess, Grange again opened in the 4th degree. In the order of business Ella Mae Liesinger was elected as candiCentennial queen, to represent the Grange. The masters from the visiting Granges gave short talks. A vote of thanks was given the Elkhead Grange for the good work their degree team did. An announcement was made that Kellogg degree, team will come to Sutherlin put on the 3rd and 4th degree June 23rd.

After the meeting closed refreshments were served by the committee in charge to the following visitors and members: Charlie Hedden, Chester Rydell, Claude Bush, Mona Rydell, Elsie Huebner, Frances Hedden from Sunnydale Grange, Mrs. Golden Kruse, Mr. and Mrs. D. C.

The bride was beautiful in a long white taffeta gown, with full length veil and train. She carried a bridal bouquet of pink rosebuds and white carnations. Miss Geraldine Huckins, sister of the groom, was maid of honor. She wore a gown of pink net and carried an arm bouquet of pink rose. buds.

groom was attended by his brother, David Huckins. Father Hyland performed the nuptial mass in the presence of relatives and friends of the couple. Following the ceremony a bounteous wedding breakfast, was served to the bridal Mrs. Tom Huckins, at her lovely home in Drain, Ore. The bride is a daughter of Mrs.

Bowman, grade school teacher Yoncalla. She was a student in Yoncalla High School. The groom spent his entire life in Canada. He served in the Canadian merchant, navy for years, to the United States last summer to be with his parents. His parents moved to Drain last summer from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The club will meet at a onethirty o'clock luncheon Tuesday, June 8, at the home of Mrs. Mina Johnson with Mrs. Betty Brady COUPLE MARRY IN EUGENE, MAY 4TH YONCALLA -Word has been received from Eugene of the marriage of Mrs. Helen Hunting. ton, daughter of Mrs.

Hamilton of Yoncalla and Richard Beddows. The wedding took place May 4th in Eugene. The bride spent most of her life in Yoncalla and is well known in this community. Mr. and Mrs.

Lost Fisherman's Body Found Near North Bend SEATTLE, May 25.

(P) A body, identified as that of Frank Thomas, missing fisherman, was found floating yesterday in the ocean near North Bend, the Coast Guard reported. Thomas was last seen May 14, clinging to the side of his fishing vessel as it drifted seaward in Coos A patrol craft from the Coos Bay lifeboat station found the body.
