Th rescue came about in the following manner: Some of the action in Mrs. Castle's forthcoming pictures take place on the sand dune, and In order to ahoot these scenes with the proper backgrounds -Director Hollywood.

Mrs. Castle and th other member of the company went to Cape Cod and remained several weeks. One dsy when they were out on the dunes a heavy storm cam Within a few minutes the wind had laahed the water Into heavy wave. Still the company worked on. aa the wind and wave made the background rery realistic.

Neither Mr. Caatl nor Mr. Hollywood, realised, however, that the section of the dunes on which they were working had become surrounded by water, owing to the rapidly incoming tide. Whyu finally they realized the seriousness of th situation, the water was too deep to enable them to reach the mainland. Their only hope of reaching shore waa by swimming or signalling the Ufa saving station, located about a half mile distant.

A none of the company wanted to risk a swim In the heavy surf unles absolutely necessary. Mr. Castle removed her outer skirt and used it to signal th life saving station. In a few minute a boat waa launched and a crew of stalwart Down East lire aaver fought their way through the surf until they reached th side of th Imperilled actors. That wa aa near aa Mrs.
