Before Wanda leaves to rejoin the troupe, Gler. tells her of his ambition to become an actor and' she not only encourages him in that desire. but helps him to secure sn engagement from her manager.

On the stage Olen finds him self falling in love with the. beautiful leading woman, but hesitates to ask her to marry him because he considers htau-sell far beneath her. The picture was made for the greater part on the exact spots where the scenes of the story were laid and the principal parts are In the hands of capable, clever screen artists, chief among whom ace "the Thansauser Kid" as little Eva and Irving Cummings as Harris.

The picture Is an example of the very best in motography and aside from Its story Is one that is a source of delight to the lover of motion pictures. For Thursday ana Friday the Pearce has to offer a return at reduced admission prices of the great New Tork Hippodrome spectacle, "America," the picture offered at the. opening attraction for the oe. The management of the RcX has ar ranged three interesting pictures for Thursday, "For Her Father's' Sins," a strong sociological drama In two reels; tne mutual weekly ana a war picture, entitled "The Siege of Antwerp." The Mutual -Weekly which depicts scenes of world-wide Interest occurring within a week, will be especially attractive to Houstontans since it snows the fire at the Grand Central depot.

The Antwerp picture shows the inhabi tants fleeing, a German Zeppelin scout ing in the clouds, field xuns in action and the Belgian soldiers retreating under heavy fire, it is saia to be one of the best of the war series. "The Key to Yesterday" at the Crown. "The Key to Yesterday," a feature play shown at the Crown Wednesday, will be repeated at that popular photoplay house Thursday as the. head of an interesting bill.

As a result of that meeting an application was filed for the changing of tariff 8-A, governing the transportation of live stock between points in the State.
