Some new city fathers. Do your best all the time. Be sure and write it 1912. The human will is mighty weak. All around shattered resolutions.

The jys must have run out of soap. P.esolve any way, you might keep it. Don't forget to turn over a new leaf. Whiskev is the enemv of evervthine decent. It is now un to blind nil's to rret a i r-o- hikeon.

Wonder if the blind pigs will make any resolutions. The city councilman gets some real experience in life. Don't let other people run your habits. Be a unit yourself. r.ensuality causes a good deal of cussedness in the world.

The man who gets drank in i town ought to be fined the limit. dry Among other things be temperate in your eating. Cart, for your body. Albany needs more pavement, but the price proposition must be taken by the horns. nuisance: soaDincr windows, even once a year, causing busy people a good deal of unnecessary work.

It Bhould be stopped. A new arrangemeut is a city business managor, a fellow hired to run a cny, a Rvntem onen to crreat abuse, unless just the rignt man is secured. We scheme, we toil, we pray, In wretched plight. For what? Three meals a day, One sleep at night. in interesting aiiau iij isic iiicciimk ot tne council last iiikhi- wua iiiamaKo ceremony performed by retiring Mayor! Wallace, with Mayor Gilbert as the I na tha WlAa The ereat need of city governments everywhere is the doing of business as one would ran one's own business, not I influenced by politics or favor.

Instead everywhere graft and favoritehm prevail. Got- West says he is against the abuse, not the use of liquors- and he takes men am conditions as he finds them. The oae of liquors lead to their abuse materially, and it is our business to hem our fellow men, not to give them conditions that are degrading. This is a versatile old world. The minds or some men run entirely to figures, ethers to books, ottu rs to music, others to athletics, eats, featsiH fads, fancies, society, and some are toD small and some too big, some too poor and some too rich Jim Hill says there is no menace to the country's orosDeritv except hesita tion.

Tho people are sane, and there is' notning serious tne air ro aisturo anybody's confidence. Conditions keep people from going into new things rapidly. Business is steady all over the country even if a little quiet. A nother leap year has begun. Albany is full of young men too bashful to propose, and it is up to the girls to help them out.

Then thero are me doubtful whether they have a sufficient income to meet the exDensss. of an eztravagent age. It is up to- them to d'saause the minds ot this fallacy. Make 1912 the best year Albany ever had. Patronize your home merchants, net transients.

Now is the time to clean up stocks-: and character. A city's business should be run in a business way. Chin i not so very much of a republic ifter all yet. Roosevelt might accept but he A-on't have a chance. isuccess hns failed.

It was a success Riving advice, but not in finance. Albany people generally should back up the marshal in hi9 efforts lo enfo ce me laws of the city.
