Ny me waa reported ln.i-jred. peac aa contained in the report, which concluded with the anonuncement that Pope Benedict had granted to all federation members his apostolic benediction. Affiliated with the federation, the report shows, are 30 national organizations and 25 Catholic institutions. Many or these" national organizations are comprised of natives of the countries now at war, both alliances of the belligerents being represented.

A special committee consisting of the Rev. Richard H. Tierney and John Wha-len of New l'crlc and Henry V. Cunningham, the report said, had called on President Wilson and the secretary of state, and submitted to the latter certified documents disclosing many outrages committed in Mexico against the Catholic church, priests and sisterhoods. An extensive review of the federation's crusade against indecent theatrical performances, moving picture shows, pictures and post cr.rds, also was contained in the report.

In this connection, it was reported that the branch federation in St Louis had suppressed 61,935 indecent and suggestive post cards. A number of placklisted plays, several of which had ieen reproduced in moving picture form, had been suppressed throughout the country by the federation's activities, It was said, and the Introduction of censorship laws in the legislatures of various States was urged. The most flourishing branch of the federation, the report said, was that existing In the arch diocese of Boston under the leadership of Cardinal O'Connell. This federation represents 1,000,000 Catholics. Activities of the federation to prevent the circulation through the malls of scurrilous and slanderous literature were outlined.

The report also Faid: 'The report showed that investigations were made to asf-ertain why. the Associated Press failed to disseminate news regarding the perse ution of. the church in Mexico nnd the reason for suppressing the news of the Fattier Itossman case, mho was given a verdict by a Jury for 11500 damages against a bigoted paper.
