Robertson hit five of nine from the field and made five of his six free throws. Kleine was seven of 11 from the floor and led all rebounders with eight. Before the Razorbacks could throw the ball in bounds, the Bears' Glen Mays got two free throws on a foul called against Willie Cults. Arkansas' Darrell Walker was called for an offensive foul with twelve seconds left. Three seconds later, Baylor's Daryl Baucham scored to cut the Razorbacks' advantage to three. Baylor then called a timeout, but the Bears already had used their allotted number of five.

A technical foul was called, and John Snively, who scored 12 altogether, hit two free throws to give Arkansas it's final score. Baucham, who hit 10 of his 12 field goal attempts, led all scorers with 20 points. James Stern added 14 for Baylor. For Arkansas, Walker scored 10. The undefeated Razorbacks increased their winning streak to 11, while Baylor fell to 9-4, including 1-1 in the SWC.

Houston 105, SMU 71 HOUSTON (AP) Michael Young scored 28 and Clyde Drexler 22 to lead 19th- ranked Houston to a 105-71 victory over Southern Methodist Saturday night in a Southwest Conference basketball game. "The press kind of wore them out in the second half. Let me tell you something, SMU has a fine basketball team. The defense did it for us. Gosh, we must have had eight or nine steals there in a five- minute period," said Houston coach Guy Lewis.

The Cougars' 7-foot sophomore, Akeem Abdul Olajuwon, scored 14 points, blocked nine shots, and pulled down 22 rebounds. In the first 8:50, the two SWC teams battled evenly before Prexler's two free throws put Houston into a J6-15 lead and the Cougars never trailed again. Houston, 10-2, extended its lead to 42-30 with 2:55 remaining on a slam dunk by reserve guard Benny Anders, who finished with points. The Cougars led by 48-37 at the half. During the first three minutes of the second! half, the Cougars continued to dominate on both ends, taking advantage of superior height and depth advantage to pull Derek Giles scored on a slam 3'2.

minutes into the second half for Houston's 16th straight point and a 62-39 lead. Alvis Franklin, another reserve, hit a 20- footer from the top of the circle for the Cougars' biggest lead of the game, 96-57, with four minutes left in the game. It was the fourth time of the year that Houston went over the 100-point mark. Houstoh improved its SWC mark to 2-0 while SMU fell to 1-1. SMU is 10-4 for the season.

He had been tied for the most SWC wins with Glen Rose who had a 176-118 record as the head coach at Arkansas between 1934 and 1942 and between 1952 and 1966. Freshman Jimmy Gilbert scored 11 points and senior Claude Riley added 10 for the Aggies. Renaldo O'Neal paced the Owls with a season-high 22 points. Kansas St. 51 AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Les Craft's 13 points and nine rebounds sparked an otherwise lackluster Kansas State effort in the Wildcats' 51-43 victory over Texas Saturday night.

Eddie Elder with 12 points was Kansas State's only other player in double figures. Although Kansas State scored only 24 points in the first half, Texas' Longhorns hit only 8 of 29 shots for 16 points, missing all three free throws they attempted. The taller Wildcats used their 3-2 zone defense to smother Texas' inside game. But the long shots wouldn't drop for the Longhorns, who fell to 5-7 for the season. Kansas State improved its record to 7-5.

For the game, Texas hit only 28 percent of its field goals. Don Ellis led Texas with 12 points on 5- of-11 field goals, followed by freshman guard Karl Willack who had 11 points, most of them in the final three minutes of the game. TCU 59, Texas Tech 57 FORT WORTH (AP) Guard Darrell Browder scored eight straight points in the second half to bring Texas Christian from behind to subdue Texas Tech 59-57 Saturday night in a Southwest Conference basketball game. TCU is now 11-2 for the year and 2-0 in league play.

Texas Tech is 2-12 and 0-2. Browder, who finished with 18 points, took control with the game knotted at 51-all to play. He drilled a pair of free throws at that point to give TCU the lead then canned a 10-foot jumper at 1:17 to hand the Horned Frogs a four-point bulge. Tony Benford scored a basket for the Red Raiders, who played only six players, but then he fouled Browder who hit two more free throws. Browder made two more free throws with 22 seconds left and the Horned Frogs needed them as Benford scored again.

Bubba Jennings of Tech missed a shot with three seconds to go to allow TCU to escape. TCU trailed by as many as seven points as the underdog Red Raiders gave the Frogs a scare. Jennings and TCU's Doug Arnold also scored 18 points apiece. Arnold had 10 rebounds. TCU Coach Jim Killingsworth said "If I had been another coach (for Tech), I would have loved the way we played tonight, shooting 25-footers and not going to the boards.

Tech played a good game. If you go out and screw around they'll beat you. They play good defense and shoot the ball well." NCAA SOUTH Wake Forest 60. Georgia lech 53 Delaware 54. Navy 52 Fuiman 70.
