married a cousin of his sold the house and moved away with the children By the time a psychiatrist examined Nicol at a nursing home last year and said there was no need for him to live in nursing homes any longer there was nothing for him to come home to He lived with relatives briefly and applied right away for a job in his old trade of steamfitting He middle of the night and think about all the things that have happened to me all lost Last week I started to get Nicol talks often on the phone to his mother: he has no one else to talk to so he sometimes calls her several times a day She worries about him the she admitted have just got to go bet ter than they are he said But he discovered that his wife had complete custody of the chil dren and he even have any kind of visiting rights It was a terrible blow and he was shocked by how totally he was barred from any contact with his own children even allowed to go to their school and talk to them for five minutes he explained Nicol hired a lawyer who took the matter to court for him told the judge all about my hs said and he was awarded visit ing rights His former wife said he could only see the children once a month at her home 1 Three months ago their first brief reunion took place an incred ible moment for Nicol who had last seen a baby son in a crib and two little 5 and 6 year old daughters teenaged girls walked into their house and kissed me I said are and they told me your said Nicol wondering ly He was also delighted to see his son inancially Nicol is managing but not flush His trust pays him $750 a month he pays $300 a month towards the car and his rent is $200 That leaves him a monthly $250 for food telephone and other bills personal expenses and spe cial things such as gifts for his children sleep as
