is visiting in the home of he: sister, Mrs. Idella Davis, 1460 N. College after returning from a tour of Europe. Mrs. Freihage, graduate of Decatur High School, moved to Arizona in 1920.

She had worked in the business office of The Decatur Herald from 1913 to 1917 when she entered Illinois State Normal University. In Arizona she became assistant postmaster and postmaster at Hereford and served for 28 years. She remained in government service with the Army Electronic Proving Ground at Fort Hauchuca, Ariz. until her retirement this year. Mrs.

Freihage, who was the former Nellie Cooper of Decatur, served as a council member at Sierra Vista, Ariz. from 1956 to 1959. Judy Greider Is Winner Judy Greider Wins on 'Social Judy Greider, 9, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Greider, 2195 W.

Macon and her five year old gelding "Social Climb er" won a trophy and blue ribbon in the equitation class at the Evansville Junior League Horse Show in Evansville, over the weekend. Judy appeared in the class for 10-vear-olds and under. She judged for riding ability and for putting her horse through the paces. This is Judy's first season in horse shows. She won a first in the Midwest Show in Springfield early in June.

Her family accompanies her when she is entered in competition. HOGAN-BANTA ENGAGEMENT TOLD Clay City, June 23 (Special) Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hogan of Clay City announce the engagement of their daughter Annakay and James D. Banta, son of Mrs.

Iva Banta of Flora. Miss Hogan is employed by the IGA market in Flora and Mr. Banta is, with the Flora Marathon Service Station. James Murphy of Clinton, became the bride Sunday of John Marion Schrof, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Schrof of Forrest. The wedding took place in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Forrest.

The couple will be at home in Normal after July 1. She is a junior at Illinois State Normal University and he is employed by the American Screen in nearby Chatsworth, Her wedding' dress of lace and tulle over satin was made with a hooped skirt and she carried a white orchid with blue delphinium on a white Bible. Lowry of Paris announces the engagement and approaching marriage of her daughter Patricia and John Lockhart of Weldon. He is the son Mrs. Victor Lockhart of Santa Fe, N. Mex. The wedding will take place 3 p.m.

Aug. 9 in the First Bap tist Church of Paris. Miss Lowry received her bachelor of science degree from kin University and has been employed as a teacher at Roosevelt Junior High School. Mr. Lockhart attended DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind.

MARY LIGHTHALL ENTERTAINS Clinton, June 24 (Special) Miss Mary Lighthall of Clinton, entertained at a kitchen shower in her home yesterday for Miss Mary Garl of Pekin who is to be married July Miss Garl is a former resident of Clinton when she taught Business Education in the Clinton High School several years. An out-of-town guest at the party was Miss Nancy Robinson of Springfield, a former girls physical education teacher at Clinton High. The Rev. Donald Ferrill officiated in the West Side Nazarene Church and a reception followed in the YWCA. After a wedding trip to Wisconsin the couple will live on Rural Route 7. He works for his father in the Disposal. Her wedding dress of lace and net was fashioned with a floor length skirt that fell into a train, and she carried a cascade of white flowers.
