'WED. FEB 3 1971 1 in Join us for Grand Opening at 1610 East Pershing. Warm, hearty breads. If you like good home-style bread, you'll love the new Scanda House. Every day at lunch or dinner, we feature a special Scanda.House breads Such as Norwegian Wheat Bread, traditional Swedish Rye, and a wonderful bittersweet Beer Bread.

A nice lady gave us the recipes (We'll be happy to give them to you.) Delicious Smorgasdesserts. Make it a point, when you come to the new Scanda House, to save room for dessert. We've created some doozies. Like Scanda House Fresh Strawberry Pie. And old-fashioned Apple Pie, made with big chunks of apples.

Plus a scrumptious Chocolate Cake that's something else. Your waitress will ask you if you'd like to order dessert. Order. You won't be sorry. A hew kind of restaurant.

A cozy fireplace glowing with warmth. Flickering coachlights. A cheerful dining room done in rich harvest tones of orange, brown and gold. That's the setting at the Decatur Scanda House one of the most beautiful new Smorgasbord Restaurants in America. Unlike most restaurants of its type, the new House is not a "cafeteria." That is, you don't have to juggle a tray.

Or fuss with napkins or silver. (They're already on the table.) Nor do you have to go through a big, long line and load up on everything all at once. Help yourself at the Smorgastables. "When you come in to eat, our hostess will seat you, if you like. Or, you can go right to Smorgastable No.

1 and help yourself to our choice selection of cold salads, crisp relishes and warm breads. Then you can sit down and enjoy your first course. And not worry about your main course foods getting cold. Lunch: $1.40 Dinner: $2.50 This is the best part of all. For lunch at the new Scanda House, you pay only $1.40.

For dinner, just $2.50. Children under 9 pay just 15p per year of age. For those prices, you can eat whatever you like and as much as you like from our bountiful Smorgastables. Beverage and dessert are extra. Handy location.

You don't have to drive far to get to the new Scanda House. It's at 1610 East Pershing, a few blocks east of Highway 51. So whether you live at one end of town or the other, it's still just a few minutes from home. Free balloons and prizes, too. To celebrate our Grand Opening, we're giving away free balloons to the little people.

And for the big people, we're giving away two fabulous sets of Circa 21 Cookware every week. You can enter the drawing each week by signing an entry blank in the lobby of the restaurant. An invitation. All of us at Scanda House cordially; invite you and your family and friend3 to join us for Smorgasbord lunch or dinner during Grand Opening. We're open for lunch.

from 11:00 to 2:00, Monday through Saturday. Dinner is served nightly from 4:30 to 8:00, and Sundays and holidays from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. So come. Join the feasting and fun at our new Scanda House Smorgasbord Restaurant. We promise we'll send you home happy.

A mother or a son. A businessman or a workingman. Dress is optional. So you can wear whatever you feel comfortable in. And remember.

We are a family restaurant. So we don't serve liquor. (Just good food.) Your hot foods stay hot. When you're ready for your hot foods, step up to Smorgastable No. 2 and help yourself to such things as Maryland-fried Chicken, Yankee Pot Boast, Fried Shrimp, Chow Mein, Meat Balls-whatever you wish.

You take everything, from our table to yours, piping hot. Just the way you like it. Baron of Beef carved nightly in the dining room. A special feature of Scanda House is our Baron of Beef. It's a 50 to 65 lb.
