running back John Holifield netted 161 yards on 27 car ries leading all rushers Hunter ad ded 102 for the Hokies on 23 carries West Virginia got on the score board with 6:08 left in the third quarter when running back Undra Johnson broke through the middle for an 11 yard scoring dash The victory raised Virginia Tech's record to 4 1 the Mountaineers dropped to 2 3 Led by Holifield West Virginia had 333 total yards compared to 265 for the Hokies and the Mountain eers logged 10 more first downs than Tech But the Hokies blunted three Mountaineer scoring threats the first with 5:28 left in the first
