Duckworth, 90, Heath, Texas, formerly of Charleston, died Monday (May 31, 2004). Arrangements incomplete: Harper-Swickard Funeral Home, Charleston. Pinkston ASSUMPTION N. Elma Pinkston, 85, of Assumption died 7:40 p.m.

Saturday (May 29, 2004) in her home to Detroit, in 1944 and was a substitute teacher. She was hired full time as a special education teacher at the Detroit Day School for the Deaf. She taught until almost 1970. She was affiliated with St. Paul's United Presbyterian Church in Livonia, Mich.

She married Llewellyn Dean on March 31, 1923, in Decatur. He passed away Jan. 16, 1982. Surviving are her son, Robert F. (Lee) Dean of Hudson; granddaughter, Catherine (Paul) Fischer of Bell-brook, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Eric Fischer, both of Bellbrook.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers MACON COUNTY Behme DECATUR Mary Lou Behme, 69, of Carlinville died 9:40 p.m. Friday (May 28, 2004) in St. John's North. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Ss Mary Joseph Catholic Church, Carlinville, with the Rev.

James Neuman and Fr. George More-lock officiating. Mrs. Behme was born Dec. 2, 1934, in Carlinville, the daughter of Frank B. and Victoria R. Beasley Link.

She was a secretary for Carl Behme Farms and taught CCD at Ss Mary Joseph Catholic Church for more than 15 years. She was superintendent for the Macoupin County Fair for 30 years. She was a member of Ss Mary Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Macoupin County 4H and Extension Council. She was awarded the Elanco Bell Ringer Award for the Macoupin County Pork Producers, Illinois Pork Producers. She married Carl A.

Behme on April 11, 1953, in Carlinville Surviving are her husband; daughters, Susan L. (Dr. Lawrence Eugene) Jeisy of Decatur; Sharon L. Behme (fiance Keith Missey) and Annette M. (James Bellm, both of Carlinville; Carol A.

(Randall Tillman of Altamont; Jennifer L. (Jerry D. Titus of Greenfield, sons, Christopher A. Behme and Jeffrey A. (Julie Behme, both of Carlinville; Gregory C.

(Ste-fanie) Behme of Litchfield; brother, Norman (Mary) Rosentreter of Hillsboro; sisters, Bernice (Edward) Reichers of Florisant, Julia (Fred) Grace and Victoria Klaus, both of Carlinville; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold and Charles Link; sister, Eileen; and four grandchildren, i LOVINGTON Leokadia H. 9, 1935, near Maroa, the son of Clayton R. Rogers and Gladys M. Nowlin. He was reared on the family grain and livestock farm and devoted his entire life to his family and farming, two of the things he loved most. His other passion was flying.

Throughout high school, he was involved in Future Farmers of America, serving in various roles in the local Maroa chapter and receiving numerous awards. He served as vice president of FFA Section 16 and received the Sectional Star Farmer Award, State Farmer and American Farmer Degrees. He won top honors in the Land Judging Contest at the First Farm Progress Show in 1953. He graduated from Maroa High School in 1953 and attended the University of Illinois short course in agriculture John was named Outstanding Young Farmer of 1961 by the Decatur Junior Chamber of Commerce He was active in the Farm Bureau, serving as president of the People's Committee and on the Macon County Farm Bureau Board for six years, president during 1967 and 1968. He was a member of the Illinois National Guard.

Some of John's other leadership activities included 4-H, DeWitt County Zoning Board, Corn Belt FS and Illinois Flying Farmers. He served on the Decatur Production Credit Association Board of Directors (Farm Credit Services) for 17 years. John was a real estate agent. In 1991, he was elected to the Richland Community College Board of Trustees, serving through 1997. At that time, he was appointed to RCC Foundation Board and served through March 2004.

He and his wife were avid gardeners. He married Sue Jackson on April 15, 1956, in Maroa. Surviving are his wife; son, Tom (Becky) Rogers of Maroa; daughters, Leesa (Bob) Hagen of Belleville; Suzanne Rogers of Blooming-ton; grandchildren, Andrew and Hollee Hagen; sister, Barbara Ann Gray of Sandwich; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; grand-nieces and grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Roberta Young. A heartfelt thanks to doctor, friend and fellow pilot Dr.

and Zerelda J. Schulte Michaelis. She graduated from Mount Pulaski High School in 1956. She was a union counselor for Decatur Trades and Labor Union and a secretary at Decatur Macon County Opportunities Corp. She was a United Way volunteer.

She was an avid crafter and taught craft classes for years. She attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Decatur. She married Willis Larry Douglas on Dec. 28, 1965, in Vinegrove, Ky. Surviving are her husband; mother of Lincoln; daughters, Tami (Chris) Sprague of Lincoln; Tori (Mike) Cox of Springfield; precious niece, Carol (Tim) Forlow of Logansport, brother, Glenn (Mary) Michaelis of Lincoln; nieces, Debbie Graham of Clovis, Janice Strawser of Heyworth; nephew, Mark Chapin of Branson, three great-nephews; three great-nieces; two great-great nephews; two great-great-nieces; 10 grandchildren.

EARNING TRUST TAKES TIME. GOOD Budd DECATUR Dr. Merlin Bowers Budd, 85, died May 31, 2004 with his family at his bedside Dr.

Budd lived in Decatur for over 45 years. He came to Decatur to practice Anesthesia as a founding partner of Associat Merlin Budd ed Anesthesiologists of Decatur at Decatur Memorial Hospital. The practice grew to include one of the first teaching programs for Nurse Anesthetists in the area. Dr. Budd was born in Perrysburg, Ohio, on June 27, 1918.

He graduated from Western Reserve University Medical School in 1948 and interned at Toledo Hospital in Ohio. He did general Practice and Anesthesia at Toledo Hospital. He practiced medicine in the Air Force from 1953-54 in Orlando, Florida and did an Anesthesia Residence in Joli-et, 111. in 1957 The Anesthesia Department at DMH started with Dr. Howard Wibbels, Dr.

Bill Stephan, and Dr. Merlin Budd. Dr. Budd was a long time member of the First Congregational Church of Decatur. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America for some years.

He enjoyed many active years of golf, tennis, and handball with his friends at the Decatur Country Club and the YMCA. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Vermilya Budd, daughter Judy Bock-stahler, husband Fred, grandson Michael of Corpus Christi, Texas. Granddaughter Virginia Kent and husband David, of Oslo, Norway. He is survived by son, Gary and wife Diana of Eugene, Oregon and son, Ronald of Eugene, Oregon. He is survived by son James and wife, Deborah, grandson Jeff, granddaughter Jenny of Oakland, California.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 3 at 11 a.m.at the First Congregational Church. Memorials may be made to Decatur Memorial Hospital or the First Congregational Church.
