Measles and Diphtheria--A case of measles at 94 West Ross street and a caso of diphtheria at 42 Cinderella street were the only contagious dispases reported yesterday.

No Trouble- -No trouble was experienced by the local police department with the employees of the Delaware Hudson Company in attempting to lay a crossing at the corner of Grant and Coal streets which was attempted on Monday Paid the Fine--G. V. Damiano, a merchant of East Northampton street, was before Acting Mayor Carkuff yesterday charged by officers of the department with allowmorning, his premises to in an unsanitary condition. He was fined $7.50 which was paid. Death Was Accidental -George Simmor and Jullus Luckfe, the two young men who were arrested after John Shaco was drowned at Shickshinny on Sunday afternoon, and who were 1n the boat with Shaco, have been Fe.leased.

Investigation by the coroner revealed that death was accidental. Was Fined -Before Alderman Goss last evening William Masloski was charged with having assaulted W11- liam Pekinsky. Both men are residents of Plymouth. It was alleged that because the prosecutor struck a dog which attempted to bite him and which belonged to Masloski. that the latter struck Pekinsky.

The defendant was fined $5 and costs. Memorial Window--The 1910 graduating class of the Wilkes- Barre High school has announced its intention to be the first 'of the graduating classes of the High school to contribute a memorial for the new High school building. It was proposed some time ago that it would be a pleasing plan to have each class donate a window a and it seems likely that this proposal will be adopted. PERSONALS Mrs. A.

J. Sweet has gone on a twoweek' stay to her mother in Cass-1 ville, N. Y. Harry R. Hirshowitz of "The Hub" clothing store, who has been ill at his home since last Saturday, is improving nicely.

He expects to be at the store this, coming Saturday. Mrs. Alexander Clark, who has been in Auburn, N. visiting her sister, Mrs. Alonzo Witham, who is dangerously ill, has returned home.

Fred Bachman has returned from Port Byron, N. where he visited ed his sister, Mrs. John Rainow. Bass fishing is good this that. section and he spent most of along the Three Rivers fishing.

Postmaster Heffernan's family are at the Oneonta Hotel for a brief stay during the hot weather. Charles Gardner and family of this city will spend the summer at the Oneonta Hotel, Harvey's Lake. Mrs. Thomas Stafford is in Philadelwhia visiting friends. During her stay there she will be the guest of Miss Mollie Sullivan, who is well known in this city.

Louis Casper celebrated the fifth anniversary of his wedding yesterday. and his wife entertained many at their home last night. Wooden presents were received from friends and relatives. Friends of Mr. and Mrs.

George F. Huntington, will be pleased to learn that the stork has made a visit at their home in Philadelphia. The new arrival is a young daughter, Sara Elizabeth, born June Huntington before marriage was Miss Florence M. Rowbotham, and is a sister of Mrs. J.

R. Rudolph of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Huntington, on several occasions visited herbave W.

L. Parsons, wife, son and daughter, spent yesterday afternoon at Scranton. R. W. Shertzinger of Peekskill, N.

spent Tuesday with druggist G. M. Swartz a and family. Mr. Shertzinger is editor of the Peekskill Evening News.

Mrs. Elmer Tibbetts of New York is the guest of her aunt, Mrs. J. H. Price, of 459 North Main street, having come to attend the Wilkes- Barre high school commencement exercises.

Mrs. Elizabeth Athey of Miner's Mills and granddaughter, Miss Mary B. Rawling, of Wilkes- -Barre, have returned home after spending some time with the former's daughter, Mrs. Joseph 1 R. Pennell, of Noxen.

The body of the late Philip MeKee, who met. death in the Philippines several months ago while at gun practice' in Manila bay, arrived last evening and was taken to the home of his sister, Mrs. Frank Kivler, at West Nanticoke.
