Hofius entertained her sewing club members Monday afternoon. Birthday Club Mrs Frank Ostrum entertained the members of her birthday club Tuesday , evening. The birthday of Mrs Ralph Brown was observed. • ' Sewing Group Hostess > Mrs Cecil McGlnnis was hostess to her sewing club merribers Tuesday afternoon. 94 Years Old Mr % and Mrs Ray Schilmoeller went to Granville, Tuesday, to attend a family celebration 'bf the birthday of the former's father Herman Schilmoeller, who observed his 94th anniversary. To Act As Sponsor Mrs Paul Seeley and son Mark are going to LeSe.uer, Minn., Saturday, and Sunday will, attend the confirmation of the grandson Michael Gergen, son of Mr and Mrs Robert Gergen. Mark will be one of the sponsors. Canadian Visitors Mf and Mrs L. G. Neat" of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada visited from Wednesday to Saturday of last we^k at the home of Mr and Mrs Bill Naylor. They had been vacationing at Miami, Fla. and were enroute home. Silver Wedding " Mrs Sylvester Arndorfer, Mrs Chris Reece and Mrs Orlan RUttedge are arranging. an qpen house for Mr and Mrs John Foth in celebration of their 25th wedding anniversary. The celebration will be held at the home of Mr- and Mrs Foth, 513 North Thorington street, Sunday, Oct. 6. The hours are from 2 till 5 in the afternoon and fiWi 7 till the evening. No formal invitations have been issued except to relatives and friends living at a distance. Friends ahd relatives are cordially invited U attend. At D.A.R. Meeting A meeting of G.A.R.s of the Northwest district was held Friday at Emmetsburg. Representing the local chapter wefe Opal Bourne, Carrie Bourne,, Leota 1 Geigel, Beth Schemel, Elizabeth Schenck and Dot Smith.. Activities began with a coffee that morning. Afierid" Wedding Mrs W. A. Barry Jr.,' and family, Mr and Mrs Gene Hood and Mary Jean and Mr and Mrs Paul Seeley attended the wedding Saturday morning at ten o'clock of Faber Hood, son of Mr and "Mrs Lloyd Hood, to Coleen Stumps, in Corpus Christ! Catholic church at Fort-Dodge. A reception at the Waukonsa hotel followed the ceremony. The bridegroom is a brother of Mrs Barry. Pot Luck Supper A pot-luck family supper was held Sunday at Mr and Mrs Brady Rovn's in honor of the birthdays of Mr Rovn and daughter Jean. In attendance were Mr and Mrs Lehman Rovn of Estherville, Mr and Mrs Martin Rovn, ^Mr and Mrs Ralph Rovn of Armstrong, Mr and Mrs Arnie Rovn and Carmen, Mf and Mrs Robert Nielsen and Mrs Myrtle Rasmussen of Ringsted. Bit 8e Spur Supper ,Algona Bit & Spur Club enjoyed a potluck supped at the shelter house Thursday evening, Sept. 26 with 45 members present. The purpose of the meeting was to elect two officers to replace Mary George and Clare Roepke who have left town. Joyce Graham was elected Sec- Treas. to serve the rest of this year and Jerry McVay, director to serve the remainder of this year and the following year. A silver tray was presented to th6 honorees. An anniversary cake was baked by Mrs Philip Arndorfer and decorated by Mrs Jack tfutsc,hara and a lunch was brought by the group. Present at the gathering were Mr and Mrs Magnus Rahm, Mr and Mrs George Grein, Mr and Mrs Don McCarthy, Roman Arend, Dorothy Arndorfer, Mr and Mrs Tony Grandgenett, Mr and Mrs John Preuschl, Mr and Mrs Jack Kutschara, Mr and Mrs Joe Namer, Mrs Martin Seller and Mr and Mrs Philip Arndorfer. Portland Twp. Dinner Mr and Mrs Ray 'Ladendorff, the former's mother, Mrs Lolla Ladendorff, Mrs Margaret Reid, daughter Jane and Jane's fiance Wilbur Brtmor were guests of Mr and Mrs Lloyd Bartlett for dinner Sunday. The Bartletts live on a farm in Portland township. The dinner was given in honor of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Wiltse of Knox, N. D.
